☀ ︴a platypus? PERRY the platypus!?

finally, indy escaped the maze of nightmares. (see: the mirror maze.) 

indy, feeling like he’s cheated death, is ready to take on the world. (see: the laser maze.)

this one is a lot more appealing to him. the way forward is a lot more obvious, clearly spelled out, even if it’ll surely be more difficult than it looks. well, it doesn’t even look easy, indy just has (hopefully warranted) confidence in his ability to succeed. for once. shockingly.

“okay!” he cheers, and he looks over at daehwi beside him. despite all of their mutual struggling, somehow, they managed to enter the mazes together and meet again at the start of this new maze too.

“this is like--” some secret agent shit, he nearly says, before recalling that they’re going to appear on television and that isn’t appropriate language. “a wannabe secret agent’s dream!” he says instead. yeah, that’ll work.

here, daehwi is his teammate, and with teamwork comes friendship, at least as far as indy is concerned. sure, daehwi has a history of mocking indy during training, but he thinks they’re finally bonding now. daehwi seems like he’s warming up to him, or at the very least isn’t being mean. indy hopes here, where his weaknesses aren’t as evident, it’ll be easier to want to befriend him.

he narrows his eyes dramatically, focusing, trying to memorize the patterns of the lasers. naturally, however, indy is indy, and quickly gets distracted. “i think we need secret agent names,” he declares. “full immersion,” he adds in english, because he can’t begin to think of the korean word for immersion. 

“i wanna be agent p,” he decides, after his role model, the legend, perry the platypus of phineas and ferb. “have you seen phineas and ferb? with perry the secret agent platypus?” it might not be a very fancy or impressive code name, but he is paying homage to an icon, so it’s a respectable one. he thinks so, anyway.

“wait, that’s probably copyrighted or something, right? am i allowed to talk about this?” he looks around, finding one of the cameras. “you’ll just edit it out, right?” hopefully he won’t get in trouble. he wouldn’t, right?
