Demon boy! After merging with his patron, I decided Zerns demon form should be more symmetrical to reflect that inner peace.

Cannot overstate how much getting to have a character grow and learn to love and accept himself is rewarded by a cool demon form. My queer chronically ill ass is crying over finding self love in the monstrous and unloved.

Been enjoying just doing loose stream of consciousness sketches with highlighters and fineliners in an old sketchbook and had some fun trying to think of designs for the fiends in Strixhaven called Daemogoths

Canonically their visual restrictions are; five eyes, five arms and dressed in rags and while I’ve designed Zern’s patron Occulus I wanted to explore more variations of the concept

The results were Pentexor, Xenolathis and Harmatia, who I def want to try and refine more. I’m imagining them as a trio called the Chorus who just wander around, speak in iambic pentameter and ominously talk about the current events like a Greek tragedy choir.

I've been desperate to do something with Zern and his patron Occulus ever since we learned in-game that if Zern and Occulus deepen their bond they'll reach a point where they will both cease to exist and merge together into a wholly new being that is both but also neither of them. 'A complete death of the Ego' as my DM put it.

It's currently unknown if they can be separated as of where we are in the campaign, there's more than a little overlap between the two and it's been heavily implied their souls are entwined. They feel each other's feelings and there's a not insubstantial bleed of personality between them.

I also just really love Occulus' design that I made up. He's still in a sword, I just feel them holding hands was more symbolic.
