Thinking about these panels a lot.
Again, it makes me think on how the ones who are the villains on the OG story of the novel would be the ones who try to divert Lithera, the divine hero, from the supposed path. And they turn out to be the people who actually care about Lithera the most.
I talked about this before, with Monilla's case, where she diverted Lithera by telling to not get the spotlight and let the responsability be distributed among her friends, which in the end, turned into the right thing to do, since the final flaw on the first timeline was how everything was on Lithera's shoulders. Monilla was the one who "tried to tempt the hero into leaving their quest".
And then this shows how Pellus does this "villain" thing. He turns into a literal Demon God in order to make sure Lithera's remains of existence are kept alive. By doing so, he kept her in the dark from the ones who would put her on that huge pedestal again. He literally is the one who kept her from being a divine hero to the people, which one would say suits his demonic being.
To be honest, that supports my theory about how Pellus was like the overpowered secret boss of a videogame on this line.
