You know how, as a woman, now you need to avoid talking openly about your type so men can’t use it to manipulate you? Well I don’t need to do that because this is my type:
They take one look at them and know that my standards are sky-high and they’ll never be able to satisfy me😭😭💅🏼
So let's talk about the cover of Another Typical Fantasy Romance Season 4
An extremely cool picture. I feel like I can say for sure we all love to see more of Daemon King Pellus.
BUT THAT'S NOT THE WHOLE PICTURE.
Behold...
From the one for the physical book cover to the one released on other platforms, there's no mistake of the big difference in here. This other picture has the supposed center (Lithera) completely moved and now the two completely human characters are on the right while the daemon one stands on the left.
So what does Wolhet mean to tell us with this? What information can we extract from this evidence for the events on the upcoming season?
For a starter, let's adress the part where, while Lithera stands between the two versions of her loved one, she is definitely not in the center of the picture. In fact, as I mentioned before, both human characters are on one side, while Daemon Pellus stands on the other side. This could reffer to the fact that they are from different realities, but they also appear as to be on different sides, meaning that they are on somewhat enemy terms, specially if we take into account the part where the division is drawed by Lithera's spear.
It could mean another thing (or have this meaning added), when we see how much space Daemon Pellus takes in here, dominating a really big fraction of the picture. To be honest, we all see coming how he's going to be a main issue on this season. The couple are there to find him to begin with, and he's behind all the plot around the Daemon world.
His body seems small compared to the size his wings are, though, which also ocupy a lot space on the picture. Most of what we see of him are the very things that define him as a changed Pellus Termaine. It does differ him visually from his human opposite in here, but it also states how his current condition takes over lots of stuff on his life, how much he has changed.
Now, as for Current Pellus, we can see him on a completely different manner. He's very close to Lithera, he's even supporting her as she is seated on his lap, while he holds her close and so does she. We know they went together to the ended world, and now we see they are going to stay close, in support and as a very solid duo. They occupy the same space so it unifyies them visually, and we can expect them to be for the season.
And Current Pellus' face feels calm, almost undaunted, but there's also concern for his beloved (we can tell why). All together feel like he's going to be a rock for her in this next chapter of their lives, since we know Lithera feels still very guilty about leaving them behind (she is going to be reminded again and again that she was freaking murdered and she couldn't have known, right?).
Going back to the spear Lithera wields and that marks the center and division of the picture, it relates to the look on Lithera's face. She is in a lot of conflict. Probably it will not be just the guilt, but possibly we are going to see Daemon Pellus can't be exactly defended for his actions somehow. However, it doesn't feel as if her pose is agressive in any way, so she is on guard. Again, despite defending the possibility of Pellus having some good reasons for his actions and/or not being a complete villain beyond saving (which might be a real fear for her), she still has to be on guard, since Daemon Pellus is the core of the curse that fests on the world she left after dying, and that could perfectly mean something bad, not just his reasons, but what he could do now to those she holds dear.
Another big trait of this picture regarding Lithera is the light she emanates. It could be literally about her holy power as a chosen of Noathe, which makes her basically an overpowered saint (even now after loosing much of her previous power she is still very powerful). But for the way both Pellus act, I think it's another thing about her. Metaphorically speaking, Lithera brought a lot of light to Pellus life, so this light could be that one. Current Pellus is completely surrounded by it, which means he is way more stable than his counterpart, who is mostly on the darkness, except for the parts that reach for his lost love in such a longing manner.
Still, though Daemon Pellus reachs for Lithera in a longing, and even pleading way, we can tell by his face he's not unhinged in any way. His face looks more collected than the rest of his face shows. He kind of looks depressed, even if he clings on her robe
Overall, Daemon King Pellus here looks like a depressed from decades from grief man who is figuring out if the light of hope is really back in his life while the other two are on guard because there such a big situation going on, with all the meeting the destroyed world and the guy who did all that. We can say this season is likely to be a dramatic and emotional rollercoaster of nostalgic meetings with the ocassional convincing of they are who they claim to be.
At least that is what I thought until I found out about the painting of the XIX century that Wolhet used as reference.
Jupiter and Thetis, by Jean-Agustin-Dominique Ingres, 1811.
As you can see, the poses that resembles the most are the ones with Lithera and Daemon Pellus. On the other hand, Lithera does support herself on Current Pellus like Jupiter does on the throne and storm, which can mean Pellus is like her power, which makes sense, since she recovered a good amount of ther power through him. In any case, with that is what the symbolism comparission ends with Current Pellus.
As for the other part, let me tell you what is happening on the Jupiter and Thetis painting. This is from the Illiad, the tale of the infamous war on Troy. Thetis, Achilles' mother, comes to the Olympus to implore Zeus in favour of her son, and to gain said favour, she reminds Zeus that she helped him on the past with an usurpation attempt. To sum up: Thetis is tecnically imploring for her son and all that, but she's using a bit of manipulation on her side by reminding Zeus about her past aid to make the king of gods compelled to give her what she wants. (I mean, notice how her hand on his chin looks as she's being a little seductive and manipulative)
Soooooo.... should we worry about Daemon Pellus trying something similar?
I mean, as Thetis, he has a wish that by itself is not bad, but he might resort to pull the card of "I'm the one you called most trusted friend when you lived here, and you expressed your deep wish for us to meet, so can't you just stay and listen to what I have to say?"
Ok, I know how that sounds like, and I know very well that Pellus, in none of his forms, is a duplicituous man (except for the part of making people believe he's a dumb brute XD). His motives to try to get her to be around longer (if not forever) are something completely genuine and with no wish for harm (at least I hope not), but this Pellus has been deep in grief and has destroyed a world to get whatever he wants, so to think he might have a hidden agenda and that he is willing to do more things that the Current Pellus would in order to get whatever he wants is not impossible. Besides, take a look to the way he clings at her robe while he does that gesture to her chin and has a somewhat calm look on his eyes. I may be reading too much into it, but might be him trying to be alluring while the other hand shows his real feelings of desperate attachment.
To put it on less words, if the author has painted that picture with set parallelisms on the picture with that painting, we might have to interpret this as "this Pellus wants something from Lithera, maybe just her, or more than that, but we have to expect the possibility of Daemon Pellus being up to something".
Still, I might be looking too much into this, and the part of comparing the ancient painting to this might be an overstretch, but the mannerisms seemed like a deliberate choice to use and I thought it could have that meaning.
