what do you hate about Terminator 2?

terminator 2 is the greatest sin in cinema since jaws

ok so, in terminator 1, skynet, in a last ditch desperation effort to defeat the humans, send a terminator through a time machine to kill sarah connor before she gives birth to john connor. the humans send a volonteer through the time machine after they capture it to save sarah connor. hes secretly in love with her due to the resistance’s lionization of her and ends up being the father to john connor (spoilers). they destroy the terminator and you have a really nice, clean time travel story that works because its operating on a closed-loop logic where going back in time ends up creating the timeline where the time travel happened in the first place.

however, in terminator 2, because they failed to kill sarah connor before she could give birth to john, the machines send another terminator to kill john connor when he’s 10 years old (aka. its yo yogi, in terminator form! cool mall scenes, theres hip kids, etc.).

so. how did the machines know their plot to send back a terminator to kill sarah connor before she gave birth to john fail? what did they expect to happen if they did succed? in their timeline, sarah lived and john succeded in overthrowing skynet. are they expecting their timeline to change? if so, they won’t send back a terminator as a last ditch effort, causing a paradox. more likely is it that the ones who are still in the original timeline won’t notice anything because they’re still at the stage where things are as they are already.

so, are the machines, by sending out terminators, trying to increase the utility for other universes that are ruled by machines? im imagining an infinite amount of timelines all sending an infinite amount of terminators creating an infinite amount of new timelines that only exist because of the time travel event. which would explain the sequels, in a really bad kind of metastory way.

no, it just doesn’t hold up.

The biggest argument I hear from Bernie supporters who are voting Trump is that Bernie used that Young Frankenstein/Looney Tunes argument "Now whatever I say, don't vote for them" and then immediately realizes he's made a mistake and no one will listen.

Anyone who genuinely believes in Bernie’s revolution, who believes in addressing climate change, who believes in equal rights for LGBTQ people, who believes in making college affordable, who believes in not blowing up the fucking goddamn planet because they’re going to have a fucking tempertantrum and vote for the most dangerous and unqualified man who has ever been nominated by a major political party in history is a person who is deeply disappointing to me.

Hillary isn’t perfect. Bernie wasn’t perfect. Trump is a fucking nightmare. Voting for anyone other than Hillary is voting for Trump.
