You know im using duoligo and i saw they use mostly "de" whereas "dem" is used as object ... is that right ?!
De and dem can both be used for people and objects. Some examples of their uses and a bit of explanation can be found [here].

but people may choose to use den, dem or hen as pronouns right?
People can choose to use “den” as a personal pronoun for themself in Swedish just like people can choose to use “it” as a personal pronoun for themself in English. It’s very rare but it does happen. “Den” is mostly just used for objects, just like “it” is moslty used for objects.
“Dem” and “hen” are both common gender neutral pronouns that can be used if you don’t know the gender of the person or if they are nonbinary. “Dem” is more common, but “hen” is getting more and more popular.
