DAI won't start, instead runs in the background
Hi,
I have followed the instructions to revert to patch 7 and that patch (vanilla) worked fine. However when I make a merged patch (with mods) the game won’t start for some reason (only runs in the background, won’t actually do anything). Any idea what’s causing it and how to make it working again? It shouldn’t be the mods as I have succesfully used them before.
Mod Maker’s Note: There was an issue found with the linked copy of Patch 7. That is currently being fixed, and the Mod Makers will announce when the new (corrected) Patch 7 download is available. Many apologies for the mixup, and hopefully the new Patch 7 will fix your issue!
new patch problems
ever since patch 9, I’ve had problems installing my mods, it shows an error regarding the black emporium dlc
Mod Maker’s Note: The Mod Makers just posted this workaround to Revert temporarily back to Patch 7 (Version 1.08).
Patch 8
My Origin very sadly auto-updated before I could scream NOOOOO and switch to offline mode (lesson has been well and truly learned). Is there any way to get hold of the patch 7 files in order to attempt a rollback?
I very rarely have time to use the cinematic tools or cheatengine, so being unable to regain that functionality for the time being wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Thanks for the help!
To continue to use mods, you don’t need to actually roll back to Patch 7, you just need to follow these steps. Some people tried rolling back to Patch 7 so they could continue to use Mod Manager to add new mods, but the results as reported on the DAI Tools forum have been mixed at best as to the success of the maneuver. So please try the steps in the above linked post, and hopefully that will allow you to continue to use mods.
Good luck!
okay i'm sure you've gotten asked this question like a bajillion times but I've searched and haven't been able to find an answer that makes sense hahaha. so Origin automatically updated my copy of Inquisition and now none of my mods work (duh) but I was wondering if there was a way to fix that or to get around it, or do I have to wait until the next mod manager update comes out? Thanks!!
First, make a backup copy of your entire Patch_Mod folder (whatever it’s called). To do so, simply copy it somewhere else.
Second, follow the steps outlined in this post.
Third, don’t run Mod Manager again until it has been updated.
The coder who maintains the Mod Manager is aware of the problem and working on an update, though the Mod Makers do not yet have an ETA.
Good luck!
