It’s 10:39am.
There is snow outside.
I have a full mug of coffee.
My WIP is currently sitting at 105,984 words.
Let’s see what I can accomplish.
NaNo Update: 1761 words 15,420 words total
I was supposed to do some catching up, but instead I did some lying down, so...this is pretty good, considering. All four main characters have made it to the Ram’s Horn, i.e. the magical black market, and they’re about two lines away from meeting the villain.
It’s not going to end well.
In other news, have I mentioned that Kit does not like Gabriel?
Suddenly, Gabriel’s red shirt appeared more like a red flag.

Never in a million years did I think I could write this much in one day.
Here’s the thing - today was a good writing day. I left work at a normal hour. I didn’t have to cook dinner. I worked on a scene that I heavily outlined in advance. The bottom line is that I won’t be disappointed if I can’t reach the same goal every day.
My only goal is to not stop until I’m finished.
Anyway, here’s one of my villains:
She’d been particular with her outfit that morning, choosing a flirty, floral sundress that made her look like she belonged in a yogurt commercial.

After all the whining I did yesterday, I sat myself down and outlined this morning. I need to have a general idea of where I’m going, otherwise I do stupid things like writing redundant conversations or scenes from the wrong character’s perspective.
(I even outlined a draft of the dreaded ending. Shhhhhhhhh.)
Anyway, magic is dangerous, kids:
Broken glass was nothing compared to a broken mind.
NaNo Progress: 1206 words 33,347 words total
“What is this chapter supposed to be about? OH right, that piece of backstory I was supposed to foreshadow but forgot about. Oops!”
Editing is going to be fun.
In other news, I swear to god this isn’t what it looks like:
The first thing he wondered was whose bed he was in.
NaNo Progress: 1183 words 25,828 words total
In other news, writing is hard when you’re exhausted. In other other news, I might hire someone to stand next to me as I write and shout YOU CAN FIX IT LATER.
He finally sent a message. I’m sorry. It wasn’t enough, and he didn’t expect a reply, but at least it was sincere.
NaNo Progress: 838 words 22,931 words total
I honestly didn’t think I’d write any words today considering my schedule, yet here I am. Where did these words come from?
This is your friendly reminder that sometimes, characters make bad life decisions that their writers don’t approve of. Because sometimes, people make bad life decisions. It is what it is.
Someone’s been drinking:
Time was irrelevant. Hadn’t he said that to Kit before? Irrelevant. It was such a funny word, the kind that sounded less and less real the more he repeated it. Irrelevant. Ir-rel-e-vant. Irrevelant.
