All women but especially mothers should not contribute to or support the cruelty of the dairy industry. And it doesn't matter - factory farm or family farm - dairy tears mothers and babies apart. #Reposting @mothersagainstdairy with @instarepost_app -- On dairy farms, calves are stolen from their mothers within hours of birth and raised in lonely hutches or, more rarely, group pens. They never get to know their moms. Meanwhile the milk their mothers make to feed them is stolen and sold to humans who have no need for it. In an article entitled, "Banning Calf Removal Would Spell End to Dairy Industry," dairy farmer and farm management lecturer Marvin Pangborn says,"We can move away from that if they want us to, but there would be no dairy industry," noting "the economics of leaving calves with cows were 'horrible.' " Calves would drink milk produced by their mothers, "leaving less to be sold and decreasing farm profitability." . . In all species of mammal, mother's milk is BABY FOOD. Cow's milk is for BABY COWS. Even if calves were left with their mothers, the very idea of invading and parasitzing the mothering relationships of other animals in order to needlessly steal their breast milk is violently entitled, deeply unfeminist, and profoundly anti-mother. Please don't support this offensive industry. Delicious plant-based alternatives abound, and are healthier to boot. . . Thanks to Mish Poli, @mommamish2 for this photo and her question: "I wonder if every new mom had to give up her own baby at birth, how many moms would still consume dairy?" . . #vegan #dairyfree #milktruth #dairytruth #milklife #dairygood is no good #undeniablydairy #breastfeeding #newmom #mother #motherhood #motherdaughter #breastfeedingmom #nursingmom
