That couldn’t be right.. She absolutely had to be misreading something! Daisy blinked at the letter in her hand, reading it a second time. A third, then a fourth just to be sure. But the words didn’t change. Okay, she needed someone way smarter than she was to help make sense of this! Jumping up, letter still clutched in a hand that was starting to shake in excitement, Daisy called for Dakota as she raced through the house.
Finding them in the kitchen, she hauled her best friend to the couch so they could read it together. And..it was true. This was real. Wizard’s Words, the publishing company that she had been communicating with for most of the year, wanted to sponsor her tuition. As the puzzle pieces of her plans for the future began to click into place, Daisy’s eyes filled with grateful tears. “I can’t believe this is happening! I’m..a mistress now! I’m gonna to be published some day! I’m gonna be a doctorate student! I’m gonna be..” She giggled now, the moniker sounding so funny in her mind before she even voiced it. “Doctor Daisy!” Overcome with excitement and emotions, she just clung to Dakota as more plans began to fill her overactive mind.
She was going to put so much focus into her studies now! The last thing she wanted to do was disappoint the people who were so nice to do this for her. But more than that, she was going to have fun! Her own place, with a big garden and yard where Topaz could run around. Maybe..maybe she would find him a girlfriend! And they would have baby Nifflers for her to play with! She’d have a big country kitchen, and a sewing room, and an art room and..oh! A shop! She could open her own shop now! Oh gosh..what was she going to do with that? There was so many things she liked, how could she narrow it down enough to fit in a small store? Maybe she’d have two shops..was that a thing?
OH! She needed to text Lily! And Vi, and Dhani and Scott and all of her friends! Maybe she would have a party at her new house once she was settled! And oh!! She would have her magic back now too! Daisy was full of too many ideas to keep silent now, starting to chatter away to Dakota. Who, she could only guess now, wouldn’t be all that sad to see her go...
