The Side Adventures of Jillian Ambrose

Jillian made sure to get plenty of sleep and received magic “ju ju” as she calls it from Jiggly Puff and it’s friends. It wore off before William even arrived, but she still felt ready to tackle the day.

She noticed he had shaved and was in his army gear. 

“I’ll be leaving town for a little bit after today. Hopefully with some information to take with me.” William explained, even though Jillian had kept her questions to herself.

They started the ceremony, putting their all into it. This time, William gave her a name instead of just his connection to the spirit. Finally, a spirit from the other side took pity on the two of them. Telling them both that the one they seek is not there. 

Jillian has a feeling deep down inside that the person William seeks is very much alive. She decided to share that with him. 

“I don’t understand this.” He admitted to Jillian after they went outside for some fresh air. “My Mom was told he was dead.”

“You mentioned you know a vampire....they might know more about all this then me. I mean, I have only been at this for less than a year.” She told him. 

She had studied for years. Reading all the books she could find on various supernatural things after her family moved to Gilmmer brook. 

“Might not hurt to try. The only problem is. He’s the one who married the woman I love.” He admitted. 

Jillian made a face. “Yes, that complicates things. Maybe you can ask her to ask him?

He nodded and walked around the yard, thinking.

“I know your last name now. But...” Jillian trailed off, wondering if she should even ask. After today, she kind of felt she had a right to know.

“Dakota.” He supplied, answering Jillian’s question. “My name is Dakota Laws.”

October 22 - Part 1

I wasn’t expecting him this morning, I’m sure glad he came to visit. I’ve been worried about him.

I was in the kitchen, fixing some hot chocolate. I feel a lot better today. Lucky let out a “woof” and whined before I even heard the knock on the front door.

I invited him inside and to the kitchen. “Want something to eat?” I offered. This is the first time Dakota has ever been to the new house.

Dakota smiled at me and shook his head. “I’m fine, thanks.”

I insisted he eat something, he didn’t fight me. Josie even said hi to Dakota. At least I think it was hi. She’s moody sometimes.

I had a feeling Dakota didn’t come to see me just so I could make him eat something. Even though he was smiling, I got the feeling something was on his mind.

We sat down in the living room and I waited for him to tell me.

Dakota drew in a breath before releasing it slowly. “I tried to contact my Father, because I’ve always had things I wanted to ask him.”

I nodded slowly then remembered something – Dakota’s Father is deceased. “Okay.”

“We couldn’t get in touch with him. Even with my magic and the medium’s abilities. We tried twice.” He continued.

I tried to think before I spoke “Maybe…he has nothing to say? No offense, but he wasn’t exactly a good person. He was responsible for the death of Ciara’s parents. Among other things.”

Dakota nodded “Maybe you’re right. But a spirit told us that he isn’t there with them.”

I tried to think of a way to help him. But this kind of thing isn’t up a merfolk’s alley.

Dakota said he wanted to go for a walk, so I took him to my new favorite area. It was snowing again and it was still dark out. It was really pretty out actually.

“I’ll ask Caleb if he knows anything…if you’d like?” I asked him. It’s Dakota’s life, not mine. I didn’t want to make things weird again.

“That’d be fine. He has been around longer than the rest of us.” Dakota said with a small nod of his head. I could tell he was still bothered by this thing with his father.

I did the only thing I could think of. I gave him a hug. He has my support, that’s may be all I can give in this situation.

July 1

Though I know I’ve made the right choice, I still had missed him.

Before we were romantically involved, Dakota and I had formed an odd friendship. It was so good to see him again today – I had no idea he was coming.

I showed him around the house and yard before we went for a walk.

“I’d go for a walk everyday the weather allowed if I lived here.” Dakota told me. He had removed his shoes back at the house. I was kind of tempted to do the same, but was afraid I might step on something.

I have to admit, the countryside is really growing on me. I love looking over the fence in my backyard and just seeing trees as the sunrises. It’s good for my soul.

We walked around, loosing track of time, catching up on each other’s lives. Laughing over the fact that Joey ended up on a simnder date with an eighty year old Betty White impersonator. I wish I could have seen that.

“So, where are you going to next?” I asked him. From the way he talked, since I moved, he had hardly stayed put in Brindleton Bay.

“Actually, I’m working somewhere….I just have a small break.” Dakota explained.

I raised an eyebrow, I had a feeling he wasn’t going to tell me where. “Things going okay there?”

Dakota nodded “Yeah….it’s been interesting. A lot of interesting people there, especially one of them…”

I stopped, looking at him. “Especially interesting, hmm? Does this person have a name? What color of eyes?”

Dakota seemed to think about it “I’m afraid that’s classified.”

Classified my fanny, I think Dakota might have met someone. It’s just a feeling I got and if that’s the case, I’m happy for him. I hope it works out. Either way, seeing him again made me happy. I’m starting to feel more like me again.

The side adventures of Jillian Ambrose...

Jillian’s Dad, Garrett, came to visit her one day.

Garett “Jilly Bean...I love you but why is there a ghost cooking in your kitchen?”

Jillian “He’s making us lunch.”

Garrett “I think it’s time you come home.”

After her Dad left, Jillian confided in Jiggly Puff’s ghost that she feels she’s in Strangerville for a reason. 

She continued her Medium career. Meeting a ghost who thought she was running for President.

Jillian decided to go out and meet some real people. Hopefully not the ones who walk around like they just snorted something funky.

Jillian “Hey there.” She tried to flirt, but the guy was too upset about The Walking Dead ending to care. Too bad, he was pretty hunky. He almost reminded her of someone.

Edwin “In another life, I’m cooler looking and I’ve had woohoo!”

Jillian quickly left his booth, she wondered around until she ended up at the library. Inside, she found her love - books. She was fine until some creepy scientist looking guy started following her. That was when the attractive stranger she had briefly seen the other day gently grabbed her and sat her down, talking to her like they were involved.

Guy “Baby, I’m sorry I said I didn’t like the chicken you made. It was delicious. Please never run off on me again, okay honey?”

Jillian “Okay, I’m sorry I ran off...Boo Boo Bear.” Jillian knew the guy was being nice by stepping in, but she couldn’t help but blush at his words.

Pick three random ocs and share three random facts about them!

Dakota (Villareal) Laws

1 - Dakota's first impression of Vera was that while he thought she was beautiful, he thought she was stuck up. He wanted nothing more than to get under her skin (hence all the bickering they did). Now he'll readily tell you that he was wrong.

2- Dakota knew at a young age that he was different. He could feel it. Eventually his Mom (Luna Villareal) told him that his father, Thaddeus Laws, was a warlock. "Thadd" as she called him, had died when Dakota was a toddler. At least this is what a visit from a mysterious warlock had told her. He didn't have direction from his Father so he attended school in The Magic Realm for Middle School and High School.

3 - Dakota has never been exactly proud of the fact that he's a warlock. Mainly because of his Father. Anything he has ever heard about Thaddeus Laws is bad. So bad that until a few years ago, he went by his Mother's last name.

August Lewis

1- He is the son of Alice Spencer -Kim and Eric Lewis. Growing up, his family was very colorful with all the different personalities under one roof. There was tension between his parents often but August and his sister, Olivia never felt lack of love.

2 - August is pretty laid back and straight forward as a person. He's steady and dependable as well. Those are qualities his wife, Aubree, loves about him.

3 - Due to his somewhat large family growing up, he has always pictured that for himself. August wants kids.

Vera (Uha-Grant) Vatore (I had to do this xD)

1. Vera has felt she's had to struggle and fight to find her soulmate her whole life. She feels that struggle is over now. Now she feels like she can relax and enjoy what life has to offer her as she gets towards middle age.

2. Even though Vera didn't chose to be with Dakota, she still holds a great deal of love for him and worries about him. Caleb knows this and actually doesn't have an issue with it.

3. Deep down, Vera thought she'd never get to be a Mom. She felt it each year on her birthday, the time closing in on her. Now motherhood seems to within her grasp.
