I just finished rereading The Blue Sword - I've lost track of how many times now - and I'm really not sure how to express how much I do love that book. It's the sort of adventure I would love to go on, if adventures like that existed. Heroes (or, in this case, heroines), and swords, and evil war lords, and wonderful characters...Robin McKinley is such a wonderful author.
