[damian] “well, I’m not so sure she really believes me, that’s the issue. I don’t know what else I should’ve told her. that was as honest as it could get. I doubt that she would’ve wanted me to lie to her, claiming I am completely over everything that happened with leticia.”

[natalie] “no, you’re absolutely right! that was definitely the right thing to do, don’t worry. cut yourself some slack, damian! how long has it been? four, five months? that’s not even half a year. it’s normal that you’re still dealing with the seperation. healing isn’t a linear process. perhaps you can remind her of that next time.”

[sims-creations]

[damian] “... which is why I told her, that of course I am still dealing with the aftermath of my last relationship, but that doesn’t mean that I am not committed to the new one I am forming with her, you know?”

[natalie] “right, yes... what did valerie say?”

[sims-creations]

[jane] “he bit me right into the nose this morning! all I wanted to do was check up on him!”

[damian] “I’m sorry to hear that, jane. did you make sure to put in his food first?”

[jane] “uh yes, I’m not stupid! I feed him twice a day, just wanted to pet him!”

[damian] “well, these things can happen. don’t take it too hard, I’m sure he didn’t mean it!”

[jane not being convinced] “uh-huh, he did mean it!”

[sims-creations]

[damian confused] “why, what happened?”

[valerie] “look, I didn’t mean to cause any tension just now. we can just switch the topic if--”

[damian] “no, no, it’s all good! now tell me, jane, what’s going on with you and your tiny friend?”

[sims-creations]

[agnes] “listen, I get that you feel like he’s sort of disrespecting your sister by spending time with valerie now, but that’s just the way it goes.”

[roxanne sighing] “fair enough, but--”

watching them form across the pool, valerie was relieved to see them enjoying their time together despite the tension between the four of them earlier. 

[valerie] “look at these two getting all cosy and sweet in the water!”

[damian] “yes, I can see that!”

[sims-creations]

[damian] “well, I’d be lying if I told you it wasn’t! there are definitely other people I’d prefer to spend time around instead of roxanne... but it’s fine. I came here for you and I’m not ashamed of it. she can know that I’m no longer deep in my feelings about the break-up.”

[valerie] “you don’t have to say this just to make me feel better, damian. I can take it, really. it’s ok if you’re still thinking about her, there’s no rush, I told you--”

[damian] “and I just told you that I’m no longer mourning and moving on. so don’t worry about me, val. I swear to you I’m right where I want to be.”

[sims-creations]

[valerie] “so, are we still on for lunch today? I gotta be at the clinic at ten but I could meet you around two?”

[damian embarrassed] “oh no, I-- no, today’s no good actually... I promised natalie to help her with the books this afternoon. I’m so sorry, I completely forgot about it!”

[valerie] “ah, well, no problem. won’t be the last chance, right?”

[damian] “right!”

[sims-creations]

[valerie surprised] “rodents?”

[damian] “yes, the latest addition to our household! she’s very exicted about the little guy, isn’t that so, jane?”

[jane] “dad, don’t talk about me like I’m a little baby!”

[damian perplex] “wha-- no, that’s not what I intended at all! I was simply trying to explain to our new friend where your newfound interest comes from!”

[jane] “well, me and mr. pokenose are not on good terms right now!”
