I like the way he shifts the bag to both hands (simultaneously creating a barrier between him and the others). Almost like he's giving them justification for not including him. "Well, they couldn't have hugged me, or shook my hand, anyway. I had the bag..." Also, how he would have just put it down, if he expected a proper greeting.
While I felt the writing in season 2 was lacking, in season 3 it was more consistent.
The biggest issue in season 3 was the pacing/timing of the final episode. At one point Harrow is told he has 58 minutes to bring the phone somewhere but he was able to find a monkey, take a couple of phone calls and get to the meeting place - but it was night. It just seemed unbelievable that he could do all of what he did in 58 minutes.
The best episode was episode 4 when Harrow, Lyle and Bryan went camping. I laughed a lot, and Bryan and Harrow need to do more together. Their banter and timing is just on point and they actually did another "buddy" activity in season 8 as well so I feel like everyone can see how much fun they are together.
There is no word on a season 4, so the ending for season 3 tied everything up nicely. The over plot/mystery of this season was ok but it wasn't super engaging. It was about a murder, stealing money - but I didn't really care. :P I do care about the money though which is another morally questionable decision...
They stole the 22 million, which was stolen but the two young men from a company stealing it from others. So. How are they going to get away with it?
Harrow was able to unlock James's phone, transfer the funds and input Fern's bank account number all in about 5 seconds. Who knows bank account numbers, of their children, by heart? But even if I look past that...
It's 22 million dollars that doesn't belong to them. If they aren't going to return it, they need to donate it. I'd be ok with keeping a little to get Fern on her feet. But to just keep it unilaterally? That is just wrong.
Once again Harrow is making questionable decisions.
OK, guys, I am losing my mind right now. It’s been almost 8 years since the first time I saw the show. I have seen every episode multiple times. I’m pretty much obsessed with this series. I know quite a lot about it, too.
But it wasn’t until recently that I discovered there are two different versions of Boylan’s drugged singing.
In one released version, he sings the song “Mairzy Doats” (“Mares eat oats, does eat oats, little lambs eat ivy…”).
In another released version, he sings the song “Three Blind Mice” (“They all ran after the farmer’s wife…”).
The visual footage is the same, so clearly at least one of these songs was dubbed over what he was really singing during filming. Maybe both of them were dubbed over the original, who knows? Not me. I don’t even know which version is the one that was released first, when the show aired in the US back in 2011. If anybody can help me figure out what the original is, I will appreciate it. If not, just enjoy poor Boylan’s singing.
Edit: I’ve come to the conclusion that the original version that aired on Fox in 2011 is more likely “Mairzy Doats,” and “Three Blind Mice” is more likely the alternative version. I’m not sure about it, but that’s what I suspect.
