Damien reached out...but there was only nothingness.
Cyanotypes are one of my favorite mediums to work with, and it was only fitting I use it for today’s prompt. I enjoy the idea of elements disappearing into the emptiness where there is no coloration, and considering what happens in “DAMIEN”...
Also, I’m getting way better at hands! This took me way less time than usual. Below is a picture I took cuz the scanner I have cut off the cool stuff at the edges that really helps sell it as water >/
Original negative below the cut!
Since I have a negative, I can make this print again! I’ll probably add more pigment to his sleeve so it will actually obstruct enough light to make it slightly less blue, since I was worried about accidentally making the negative too dark so the sleeve would also turn out white, which is not what I wanted.
I think maybe in the future, for other water pieces, I’ll use a smaller brush during application so that way the individual brush strokes are more noticeable and therefore will make it look more like water splashing.
Btw, I enjoy talking about cyanotypes, so if you have any questions, feel free to shoot them my way!
