in a world where access to houses/shelter is restricted, some people are always going to have to sleep on the streets

Empathy? Anyone?
In light of what I have been reading about Ferguson and seeing that the donations to support Darren Wilson are surpassing that of Mike Brown...
I have a few things to say.
1. What the hell happened to empathy? It isn't just a silly psychobabble term, it's a core element to truly being a human. Please, take race out of it and imagine: What if it was someone YOU knew or loved? Say a brother, cousin, friend, father, lover who was shot down by police. Unarmed. Imagine then that this police officer was going to get away with this execution and the majority of the people around you were congratulating this officer. Regardless of race, wouldn't YOU be outraged?
2. Maybe Brown taunted the officer. That does not justify use of DEADLY force when no weapon was produced and it certainly doesn't justify SIX GODDAMN SHOTS INTO THE MAN. Two shots, he's dead. Why the four extra?
3. The entire way that the Ferguson police force has handled this has been nothing but shameful. Their own state senator was present when tear gas was used, they removed identification and they have arrested and shot at UNARMED PRESS WHO WERE PRESENT.
and finally
4. I have cousins who have black lovers/spouses. With half black children. It SICKENS me that this will be something these children will likely be asked about in say, ten or twenty years and it saddens me that I truly doubt things will have improved by then.
The only consolation I have? The worse things get, the closer we are to the end of the world. And it can't come soon enough.
