Cruel Summer talks about a secret relationship, and we all know that Taylor’s falling hard for Joe in it, and she tells him she loves him at the end claiming it’s the worst thing he’s ever heard. in Lover Taylor states “i’ve loved you 3 summers now.” the song was written in winter 2018 (as proven by her instagram post) but Joe and Taylor “got together” in late September, according to her September cover. this means that in 2016 they were fwb and she fell in love with him despite being in a relationship with Tom. if you count the summers up to winter 2018 it’s 3 (2016, 2017, 2018).

oh i do agree with this. i don’t think she was cheating on tom hiddleston (you didn’t say that in the ask but just to clarify), but yeah, something spicy was happening in the summer of 2016 and it wasn’t just hiddleswift
