(The Vampire Diaries, 3x14 - Dangerous Liaisons)
Play With Fire ✗ Damon & Katherine;
The wasted years, the wasted youth, I want the world to go away;
That's all Katherine did--run, that is. All five hundred years were spent running and she had enough of it. She was tired and worn out, and as much as she appreciated the fact that the Salvatore's were keeping her safe and alive, it only led down to one thing--Elena. They could easily kill her, but they'd need the cure that was running through her blood for Elena. So she could have her perfect, happy, human life. The thought caused her to roll her eyes and Katherine took another swig of the bourbon she had opened.
The alcohol had taken it's affect already, and while the room spun around her, she continued drinking. Damon wasn't around, Stefan wasn't around--hell she had the entire Salvatore boarding house to herself at the moment. Who knew where the Salvatore brothers were, and quite frankly she didn't care--but then again, that was a lie. Why was it that in the end, she would always care? She'd always care for the brother who loved her too much, but had now moved on. Or about the brother who didn't love her enough, but was happy to be away from her? In the end, it all came down to the fact that she'd always be unwanted.
The thought only caused tears to gather but Katherine refused to cry. Instead, she chugged down the entire bottle as the liquid burned it's way down her throat. Finished with the bottle, she stood up and stumbling slightly, walked towards the liquor cabinet to grab another bottle of whatever was in reach. After hearing the door shut, Katherine knew someone was home, she just didn't know which vampire. "Are you here to check up on me and see that I didn't burn the place down or get myself killed?" she asked as she faced the person only to see that it was Damon.
"Oh hey, it's the obsessed brother." she added with a grin, which indicated that Katherine was clearly drunk, if her slurred speech didn't give it away.

Every human’s instinct when in a situation where someone faces someone or something that could be their lives in danger is a simple one: run. Run like hell, don't look back and hope it doesn't get you. That’s how Kayla was supposed to be reacting to Damon’s latest exposure to tell her something he had been hiding for months. He was a vampire. He had bit her sister, he had provoked a car crash that could've killed her mother and God knows what else he had done. And if it was like in the movies, he could kill her in seconds and not feel any trace of remorse. Even the most stupid person would run and never look back or think twice about leaving if they were in Kayla’s situation. That was obvious and a basic thing to do. Though, no one ever thought about one defining feeling that could complicate the instinct we acquire without trying; love. Kayla loved Damon, that’s all she knew and was sure about in a life that was crazier than a roller coaster. No instinct could convince her to avoid him for eternity, even if she locked herself up. No instinct could make her fall out of the love she felt for Damon. People say that love made people do crazy and stupid things. And in the brunette’s case, she was still hung up on a creature that was supposed to be heartless, a beast. Stupid, but completely justifiable in a twisted world. In Kayla’s world, at least at that moment.
Blindfolded Lovers | Damon/Katherine
April Fools. It wasn’t a holiday Katherine necessarily celebrated. In fact, it wasn’t something she considered to be a holiday at all. However, considering the amount of teenagers she’d made friends with since returning to Mystic Falls (which to some extent, she still regret) the vampire found herself in an entirely different place this year; in a position where she was actually joining in with the idea of pulling pranks on others just for kicks. The night prior to the current day, Katherine had joined the company of Nick, Jayden, Maya and Matt at the supernatural driven bar she’d once stumbled upon with the Blackwell witch a few weeks ago, and for the short while she’d been there it hadn’t been so bad. The brunette had stuck around long enough to witness a small segment of skater boy’s bar fight while dying his hair a little later after they’d gotten him intoxicated enough for him to actually agree to it. Nonetheless, Katherine promised herself it’d be a one time thing. Though lately she’d also told herself that she would engage in more normal activities since her tumble with Klaus, such juvenile antics were out of the question.
However. Here she was, about to embark on yet another April Fools related journey. As much as she’d told herself the only thing she’d be doing that day would be dancing around Kaylee’s house listening to ‘Don’t Phunk With My Heart' by the Black Eyed Peas (considering the young girl really didn’t seem to have much of a selection), Katherine simply couldn’t say no to Damon when he’d informed her of a trail he’d put together for her. Where it led to, she had no idea but she couldn’t lie and say her curiosity hadn’t gotten the better of her, because it had. There was that, and the underlining eagerness she’d gained of wanting to spend as much time with her boyfriend as she could. The previous night had only proved this, considering how temperamental the brunette had gotten after discovering he’d had other plans that overrode their own. But Katherine couldn’t help this. Time had been anything but on their side lately and she’d started growing restless over the thought that everything and everybody else kept getting in their way.
All the same, Katherine decided to put her mood swings aside and actually cherish any time she’d actually get with Damon. With his plans full swing ahead, or so she thought this from his departure that morning, she somehow guessed the next week or so would be tough for the both of them. Even with his walls up, Katherine could see straight through him and she managed to break them down every time. Yesterday had established he was anything but himself and it saddened her the slightest that there was nothing she could do that would truly help except try and be there; as someone for him to fall back on. As much as Katherine desperately craved to be a part of his plans, she knew he wouldn’t put her in such a position. He was protective of her and for a change she was thankful to have someone shield herself from her fears. Because that’s all the past week had consisted of; Katherine’s every fear coming to life and the vampire merely keeping up the pretence that she was perfectly okay.
Katherine dragged her feet up the pathway that led to the boarding house, stepping up to the front door and seconds away from knocking upon it’s thick, brown wood before it creaked itself open in an eerie sense. “Hello?” Katherine’s voice echoed throughout the large manor as she pushed the door open a little further and invited herself inside. “Damon? Are you here?” She yelled in addition. The silence of the house that greeted her certainly felt off, but she wasn’t about to get worked up over something that was probably nothing. If anything, Katherine knew Damon had heard her entrance but was merely choosing to be silent at the hope of creating tension for whatever surprise he had in store for the brunette. She stood still for second, hushing her breathing to a steady pace as she used her amplified hearing to sense if there was any movement in the household. However, nothing; not even a single creak. She sighed begrudgingly to herself and marched over towards the stairs, recalling Damon saying he’d left a blindfold on his bed. Once she reached the top landing, she begun the few steps it took to reach his bedroom. “Damon?” She repeated as she came face to face with his door. “Are you in here?” Carefully, she pushed the door open wider and trusted she’d find him waiting inside for her, ready to guide her when blindfolded.
