Loved Andrew here - his accent is so annoyingly casual, and the fact his name is Brandon is so perfect.

He doesn’t seem like a bad guy or a sleezeball yet, but in this second episode, he has behaved like I would suspect the higher-ups in television are behaving in real life now - hiding everything about AI.

No wonder the HBO exec said they had to get it on the air before these companies admit they’re using it.

Our Little Secret (2024)

I am a huge fan of cheese and have loved Lindsay Lohan since she was in The Parent Trap, but the secondhand embarrassment I experienced during this film difficult to get through at times. Once you’ve seen it, just know that it was the whole church scene and the scene with the grandma at the party.

After a cute line drawing/comic style story about the main characters to catch you up, our movie today opens with a younger Avery (Lindsay Lohan) and Logan (Ian Harding) during a difficult day. Avery is moving to London for her dream job and Logan is not taking it well. During Avery’s going away party, Logan makes a last-ditch effort to get Avery to stay and she dumps him on the spot. We get a fun speed-run of the news over 10 years to bring us to 2024. I personally prefer when movies choose not to use actual years because it makes them feel dated more quickly, but c'est la vie. Avery is back in the US as a business consultant and Logan is an architect I think? They meet while at their respective partner’s parents’ home for Christmas for a long weekend because coincidentally, their partners are siblings.

Avery and Logan agree not to tell people that they know each other because it’s already awkward enough dealing with the weird family they have found themselves involved with. Avery’s boyfriend Cam (Jon Rudnitsky), the oldest, is a short king, business bro, and certified mama’s boy, Logan’s girlfriend Cassie (Katie Baker), the middle child, is entitled and honestly has no personality besides being hot and rich, and finally their younger brother Callum (Jake Brennan) is "weird" and hated by their parents and probably the only person in this family I could hang out with. Speaking of the parents, their mother Erica (Kristin Chenoweth) is judgy and mean and weirdly unnerving, and their father Leonard (Dan Bucatinsky) is just miserable.

Hijinks ensue, leading to various events where Avery and Logan are forced to spend time together with blackmail and business propositions galore. The production was up to par for Christmas movies on Netflix. There was definitely some familiar music during this movie, but outside of the church scene, nothing jumped out as noticeable or unique to me. Overall, I enjoyed most of the film, but the cringe was a bit much for me, so 4 stars.
