My new group this semester is great. I feel so free in this class to be myself. I love my old group dearly, but when I was with them in class I always felt so much pressure to be good. In this class I feel accepted already, I don’t I ever felt fully accepted by my last group. It feels as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders; my voice teacher even noticed, I’m singing more freely and not pushing anymore. I was singing thongs with easy that I hadn’t been able to sing all last semester, and today they just flowed out effortlessly. I was so nice. It makes me really happy. I don’t always have the easiest time fitting in but this group drew me in; I didn’t have to try and insinuate myself. I feel like this group of individuals actually thinks I can sing, my old group thought I could sing but if we had had to do duets in that class I know no one would have picked me. I was asked to be in 2 people’s duets and another person’s scene for their song. Stephanie even told me she wants to do another duet with me as well, and we’re already doing a song together. It’s so cool to feel like I have a group. I don’t feel like I have to be invited everywhere to feel included. One guy, Justice, just decided we were friends. It’s kind of funny, he’s just like my best friend back home, PJ; I give him a hard time but it’s all out of friendship. He’s a sweet kid. My entire group is made up of great people (except maybe one girl but we won’t talk about her). I’m very excited about this semester, not to mention my teachers. My musical theatre teacher, Tom Morrissey, is amazing, and so is my acting teacher, Dan Daily. I feel like I am going to grow so much this semester. I can feel it.
