Hey y’all

So, my baby brother has Down Syndrome and is involved with this organization called Gigi’s Playhouse. The closest Gigi’s to us is about an hour away, so my mom and other parents of kids with DS have started a group to raise money to build another Gigi’s location closer to us. Me and my sister are apart of the youth board, and we’re having a dance-athon to raise money for the new location.

Of course no one needs to donate but it would really help as a closer location would mean that my brother would be able to go more often. Which leads to him learning more and more as Gigi’s offers so much for every age group!

The whole St. Matthew’s school is going to dance in the gym. It’s happening on October 30th 2015. We get together and dance in the gym for Halloween. If your wondering why were doing it, its for our school fun raiser. We are going to have so much fun at the dance a thon!

Exciting news!

I love to plan things, right? A student came to ask about a having a Spring Fling to raise money for Cancer. They also wanted to have it before Easter, which is next week. I was all "How would you raise money?" "Would it only be the students?" "What cancer organization?" et cetera. 

It essentially evolved to a dance-a-thon, but obviously that cannot be accomplished by next week. But I am planning it. It may take at least a month, so hopefully by the end of the school year or early summer. 

Anyway, I did a lot of research on dance-a-thons. It'll be a relatively small one. I'm thinking over themed hours where people dress up and such. Hmmmmmmm

So I might have lost my head...

I'm doing this thing on Saturday called a Swing-a-thon, which is a 24-hour swing-dancing marathon to benefit the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
