Guess who’s back, back again, with yet another superb taste from a forthcoming album? German duo Milky Chance! The pair stokes the flames of everyone’s excitement for their long awaited sophomore album with Ego. If there’s anyone who should have an ego after spectacular debut LP Sadnecessary and the first songs we’ve heard from Blossom, it’s these guys. Yet, they’re as down to earth and dusty charming as ever on the easy stomping, effortless leaping charmer, a fine display of their signature dance meets folk brand of sound. This Milky Chance fan is rather gutted that I completely missed the announcement of their tour stop at the Independent in San Francisco on Friday March 10th. It sold out in a jiffy.

The essence of certain emotions is difficult to capture, but “Swimming Pool” by The Front Bottoms manages to capture the feeling of reckless insecurity perfectly. Brian Sella’s lyrics are simple, yet evocative. There’s a certain poetry in the lines, but these words would not have near the same emotional effect they hold if the instrumentation did not support it. The melody of the simple acoustic guitar riffs with the piano create one of the strongest dance folk constructions ever recorded, and during the chorus, Sella’s croon of “I’m a creature/of a culture that I create/And I’m the last one on the dance floor/when the chandelier gives way” is a catchy, yet rending line that illustrates the intent of the song. The sampling of an angry ex-lover’s voicemails may be a bit jarring, but the end of the song with its haphazard, slammed piano keys and Sella’s final cry of “There’s comfort in the bottom of a swimming pool!” with nothing instrument-wise to back it up at this point, make for a compelling, striking story inside this earworm of a song.

What is up with him the people ask, is he a crappy super hero???? NO CROWD HE JUST TOUCHED IN HIS SUPER-SOUL, LEAVE THAT MAN ALONE FOR FIVE SECONDS DAMN.

This hott ish is from 2012 doggs, 2012!!! I ain't exactly sure how many year ago that is but it is more than one year!! Shit why ain't this on the radio five times a day or at least once errry day??

Instead all we got is Ke$ha's new track "Butts on Fire" or whatever and some shit that sound like dance folk. Note to DJs everywhere please replace all dance folk with this track immediately. You can keep "Butts on Fire" in the rotation tho cuz on second thought I want to hear that. Thanks in advance all DJs.
