Just wanna tell the world that I am choreographing an 8 minute piece for the Dance Minors concert at school, and holy cow it’s a big responsibility and right now I wish I could tell younger me just what I would accomplish in dance. Mine will be one of 7 pieces and I just am so fucking proud of myself for getting to do this and put the amount of work into it. A total dream come true.

Adventures in Stage Managing Day #3

So sorry for not posting last night. I was busy after the run through. We got done at 9:15 and I was in my friend's room by 9:30! Quickest run through the dance company has ever done. I didn't go home last night and slept on my friend's extra bed. We hung out for a while before sleeping which was nice cause I'm never around them anymore being as I'm in the booth and they're in the dressing rooms.

I feel sort of like a professional deligator before the show starts. I don't have much to do and wander around aimlessly making sure everything is set up and everyone is there and I've remembered all the cues. The director said I could come warm up with the dancers if I felt the need to be active before the show. I probably will do so.

Today I was exhausted and in pain. I blame it on the quick switch to an icy rain overnight. It hasn't stopped raining all day and I ended up coming home and sleeping. Hopefully the booth isn't too icy tonight.

I greatly enjoy my time as stage manager. The snarky comments from my lightboard and sound board operators are enough to keep me awake throughout the show and I don't feel too stressed.  I brought the guys popcorn and cookies last night and probably will again tonight.  Tonight is Dress Rehearsal which is being filmed and we're gonna rock it. Again.

What I love about school: Getting up and going to ballet class for 4 hours each week. What I hate about school: Getting up and going to ballet class for 4 hours each week.

So I'm probably going to minor in dance at my new school. I just really love to dance, and I think it's going to cope with my stress a lot.

My instructor for my modern class from this semester emailed me and said I was a beautiful dancer so my whole day is pretty much made.

So next semester I'm going to take chemistry, intro to neuroscience, calculus, spanish, and im going to either take modern dance or continue with ballet.

Second day of classes and I only have 2. I have class at 9:25 and again at 10:40 and then I'm done for the day at 12:30. It shouldn't be too bad. Except for the fact that I have Modern 1 and the professor hates me -_____-
