“In the Making is a new format for presenting new works created by Rambert dancers and other artists at our London home.
Curated by independent choreographer and producer Amy Bell, each day features two separate programmes of works taking place in spaces throughout our award-winning building.
In The Making features sketches, experiments, drafts, short works and live music. Performances will include Joss Arnott’s creation for Rambert dancers, and work by our Leverhulme Choreography Fellow Julie Cunningham.”
“These World Premiere performances by award-winning Director and Choreographer, Arthur Pita, in collaboration with HeadSpaceDance, offer a wickedly gruesome and darkly surreal double bill for the Halloween season.
“Stepmother leads us into a menacing world where macabre folklore meets the terrifying grotesque of Hollywood. A waiflike ‘Snow White’, living as a single parent, is pursued and poisoned by her abusive stepmother, leaving her unruly brood of children to reap their revenge on the vile ‘Wicked Queen’.
“Inspired by the folk punk ‘Country Death Song’ from cult American band Violent Femmes, Stepfather tells the grisly tale of a twisted situation. Spiralling into a hellish world of incest and murder, the search for redemption is ultimately played out beyond the grave.”
South East Dance supports those who work in dance, encourages more people to participate in dance and enables artists to create dance.
