What we lost in design was more than compensated for by the quality of performance. Vasiliev’s troubled young man was like a caged wild cat, alternating between lacklustre listlessness and frenzied athleticism. Rojo reprised her highly-charged and hugely effective cocktail of sexual predator, silent-movie femme fatale and grim reaper with all the expressiveness that this consummate dance actress can muster. It was a stunning, sensual performance by any measure.
What happened with Kochetkova at the ENB?
Not sure. She’s suddenly left, announced today as being at the end of this month, and yet she’s posting instas from Heathrow already. She was filmed in all the promotional material for the new Raymonda but doesn’t seem to be premiering. And it’s all right after Rojo has said she’s leaving to go to Kochetkova’s old company. Although Kochetkova has always lacked company loyalty, this seems really weird and sudden. There’s always been talk of a toxic work environment at ENB, so I’m wondering what’s going on.
Dear Tamara Rojo,
You can’t “reclaim” something that never belonged to you in the first place.
