I was trying to explain everything that happened around WCMI to someone the other day and it made me nostalgic for the community back then. I'm glad a lot of us relocated here but I still think of everyone I got to interact with fondly 💜 🐿
Aw, for real! I have super happy memories of that time and the people I met, as well as the creative work that came out of it, both from Bri and Rain on WCMI itself and the fandom as a whole. It still makes me happy when I bump into folks from those days, and see them thriving as they so rightfully should be.

I didn't know you're ace! Me too!!!!
Well, here’s the deal. I don’t know if I fit the mold 100% - while I don’t feel sexual or romantic attraction to other people, I do enjoy sex in other forms, like reading fanfic for example. If I have to explain to my sexuality to someone, I just stick to ace since that’s the easiest for people to accept.
Ultimately, I’ve decided that since I have no interest in getting a romantic/sexual partner in my life, putting a title on my sexuality doesn’t really matter to me. I’m just Mel, and that’s fine by me.

Mickey and Minnie as Chat Noir and Ladybug (can you tell I recently fell in love with Miraculous lol)
I actually do have an AU inspired by Miraculous! Here’s a little something.
Being a hero was nothing like Minnie had imagined it to be – although she'd never thought she'd become one. That sort of life was for brave, adventurous people – not weak ones who couldn't even muster the courage to look their crush in the eyes. But apparently destiny wasn't too picky about its saviors, and now Minnie was trying to make adjustments in her life that still didn't feel quite right. One example that stood out was patrolling the quiet streets of night.
Her little partner had told her it would be easy just to wait until trouble happened before transforming, but Minnie didn't like the idea of waiting until someone was in danger before doing anything. She'd like to stop trouble before it started. So she now had to balance schoolwork, her social life, getting a decent night's sleep and patrolling – she stifled another yawn that proved this balancing act wasn't easy. On top of the silver roof with tiles that glimmered in the clear moonlight, she stood up to her full height, stretching in an effort to awaken her nerves. So far, it'd been a quiet and safe night, and she hoped it stayed that way.
“Hey, beautiful!”
And there he was, another reminder that destiny clearly wasn't picky about its saviors. Minnie sighed, turning on her heel to look at her other “partner”, the one she never asked to have. “Silver Wolf. How do you always know where to find me?”
The young boy took this as a compliment, tipping his feathered hat. “I just follow my heart – it always leads me right to you, Princess Butterfly!”
Minnie turned right back around, nose in the air, wondering yet doubting if this would be the night if he took a hint. “I'm not here for fun, you know? I'm trying to keep an eye on the city. You never know when an attack will strike. I can't afford to be distracted by anything!”
It didn't do the trick, as instead Silver Wolf sighed dreamily, using his sword as a cane to lean on and admire her. “Your heart's as pretty as you are, Princess! The city's real lucky to you have, and so am I.”
Minnie instantly moved to poke Silver Wolf's little black nose, jostling his eye mask slightly. “You do not have me! For the last time, I like someone else!”
His happy face crumbled into annoyance, his cheeks puffing out like balloons. “What's so great about this other guy you're ga-ga for?”
“Wouldn't you like to know?” Minnie resisted the urge to blow a raspberry. “But I'll never tell. The last thing he needs is you breathing down his neck!”
“I'm just tryin' to protect you, Princess!” Indignant, Silver Wolf straightened up. “The guy for you can't be anythin' less than perfect, cause that's what you deserve!”
That got a disbelieving eyebrow raise. “And you think you're perfect?”
Silver Wolf leaned in with an eyebrow wiggle. “A date's a perfect way to find out.”
Minnie poked his nose again – this time hard enough to send him sailing downwards with a surprised “HEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYyyyyyyyyyyyyy....” And with the annoyance temporarily gone, Minnie sat down, sighing once more. She hadn't told Silver Wolf that the one her heart was set one had no idea about her feelings. If only Mickey would say such sweet things about her! A mindset like this was terrible for patrolling, but alas, it remained with her for a long time.
I remember the early marketing for the movie was ALL about how it was a musical, and then the trailers just didn't mention it? And I was confused and thought they dropped the music. Thank you for your posts confirming it is a musical (even if the music/pacing of songs is questionable) 😂
I met the guy who wore the suit for the original Creature from the Black Lagoon this weekend, he's 88 and adorable. I realized too late I should have had him sign one of your pieces!
NO. FREAKING. WAY. I am so happy for you that is amazing I am jelly Jello right now.
And the fact that you thought of me makes me over the frickin moon.
What up gorgeous?? I need to find a day to visit the coast
Hells yeah! It always shocks me how huge Florida is and how far away things are. I wish Orlando was closer and we could have game nights! Come up any time and I’ll buy you pie.
