He won’t admit to it, but he does end up adjusting the food he cooks to appease Ymir’s pickiness at times. If anyone ever mentions anything, he’ll say that it’s so that he doesn’t have to hear her complain, but really he likes pleasing his friends with his food.
He’s really salty about her taking Eren’s surname when they join the Training Corps, and he feels jealous when he sees them growing closer. Yes, he knows she’s not a real threat to their relationship. Yes, he knows he’s not being logical. No, that won’t stop him.
When they return home, he’s genuinely worried that she will be forced to pass the Jaw Titan on to someone else. Through the few years they spent together on Paradis, he begins to care about her and would hate to see her gone so soon. He would even consider suggesting that she stays on Paradis, but he knows it would be a pointless, doomed future for her.
