I've been spending a lot of time these past few days reading through all the 5e books, mainly the Monster Manual, the PHB, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, and Volo's Guide to Monsters, and I think I can come to three conclusions
1. Mind Flayers are the coolest D&D monsters, followed closely by Beholders
2. The Demon vs Devil thing is fucking awesome. I love that they're not only distinct beings, but their home planes operate in such different, unique ways that do an amazing job of highlighting the differences of their core alignments (Chaotic Evil vs Lawful Evil)
3. I really wanna run an Underdark campaign at some point.
