what’s ur favorite unused execution diva
Since there's a lot to choose from, I'm going to divide the unused executions into three sections. I'll pick a favorite from each, then choose my top execution from those three.
Trigger Happy Havoc
What I love about this execution is that it's a perfect callback to his backstory relating to his grandfather, whom he detested for ruining his family name. This would definitely be despairing for him, as he never wanted to be Prime Minister. He doesn't want to be seen as extraordinary, he doesn't want to be the center of attention, he just wants to be seen as himself and do good for the purpose of doing good, for the people. He then suffers probably his worst fear, getting assassinated. It seems simple, but I think it's a really good and compelling execution.
I love this execution particularly because it's so backstory heavy. It also relates a ton to his own name, which means white night. He's being disqualified from life, the same fate his siblings had to suffer through because of him. He is permanently humbled with this execution, as the entire time he was saying he would win this game, just like he did in his backstory. He's been through the killing game basically twice, and now he finally knows what it's like to be the loser. It's not particularly brutal, but it is cold (pun intended).
I LOVE Hina's execution, it is basically how Ryoma died but I still love it for Hina. It's simple but really fitting for her, and unlike the other unused executions that I love, I can actually see this being official. It definitely has that Danganronpa feel, and technically Hina was a culprit (as in the closing argument she is the blackened), just not a killer.
A special mention is Toko's but I couldn't find a good enough picture for her. I like that hers involves Byakuya and that it's very backstory heavy. You wouldn't be able to understand the entirety of it unless you played her free time events, and the fact that she's turned into paper (which is somewhat related to her talent) is so funny and also somehow makes more sense than her actual death in the bad ending of THH.
All these executions are great, but overall, I'd probably say my favorite execution out of all these are Taka's. I think it'd be a really fitting execution for the second chapter specifically. Imagine if he actually took the fall for Mondo and Monokuma just allowed it... And in the play, Taka did get executed along with Mondo for voting wrong, which I love. I think the second chapter in SDR2 definitely took inspiration from THH's Chapter Two case.
Super Danganronpa 2
From my THH list, my favorite executions from this game might be a little more obvious, since I have a very common theme I like.
I adore Sonia's! I love the whole princess and fairytale theme in general, so I love that it was incorporated into her execution. It makes total sense that she's the Snow White too, as both are described to basically be the perfect ideal and are idolized to a certain degree. It's very simple. she dies of a poisoned apple and never wakes up, and Monokuma lives happily ever after. I think it's a perfect ending to Sonia, as she probably fears not being able to escape her princess image and having to follow the rules that were set before her. I am personally biased as Sonia is my second favorite character from the game (favorite is Chiaki's of course) but I'm inclined to have this as my favorite unused execution from the game.
Mahiru would be such an interesting character to execute! I love that her talent is heavily involved, and that is particularly more supernatural than anything, as Mahiru is a relatively normal character who is more grounded compared to her classmates. She would be completely out of her mind as she's thrown out of her comfort zone. I think this is just a really good execution for her, and I enjoy the supernatural theme. I think there should be more supernatural executions actually, since the supernatural is technically confirmed to exist, specifically ghosts.
Kazuichi has the PERFECT execution for Danganronpa. It's the exact opposite of Jin's and Kaito's, but it's action packed and very relevant to his character. There isn't much to say about this except that it very much has the Danganronpa feel, and it probably will happen in 2x2 if he gets executed.
New Danganronpa V3
Himiko's execution is incredibly despair inducing. She's forced to come to the realization that magic is in fact not real, and that she can't use it as a scapegoat or a coping mechanism to escape the reality she lives in. She dies a simple death: drowning. It'd be even worse if Tenko was there to see her get executed, and to come to terms with Himiko's death.
This execution is absolutely perfect for him, I loved the whole Truth vs Lies theme in the game, and that Kokichi is such an embodiment of lying that he cannot escape this execution. Even if he tells the truth, it's immediately perceived to be a lie. He dies because he is Ouma Kokichi. Too many people say you can seemingly escape an execution if you were smart about it, but for Kokichi he has to not be himself in order to save himself from death. He can't. In the game himself, he dies the way he does because of his lies and paranoia.
His execution is just really fun, I love that it relates to his talent so heavily as it basically traumatized him. Nothing much to say about this except that it's really cool to see and I hope we see more executions like this in the future.
Overall, my favorite unused execution from V3 has to be Kokichi's.
Conclusion
So now we narrowed it down to Taka, Sonia, and Kokichi. Out of those three, I'd have to say my favorite unused execution is Taka's. We also have to keep in mind that only the THH unused executions are official, and that the rest are fanmade. That said, even if all of them were official or all fanmade, I would still choose Taka's as my favorite.
Taka in my opinion also had the most wasted potential out of the three, so that might've influenced my ranking a bit. Not enough people understand him or get the point of his character, even though he's a relatively popular favorite. This execution is also far better than his official death, which has to be the lamest death in all of Danganronpa. He was just not thought of at all, but this execution is perfect for him and if he had to die, I'd much rather he get executed.
