Shit.  She had a feeling that’s why Sam was upset.  How can she console her when she’s the reason why Hannah went missing?

“Sam….”  She reached her hand towards her friend, before retracting it immediately.  What could she say? I’m sorry I made out friend disappear?  How about, I really didn’t mean it.  Both would be bullshit answers.  Both would be unacceptable apologies.  So, Jess did what she thought was the best.

She gently put Sam’s hand in her own, “I’m here for you.”
