I have no idea. I don't see a point in speculating over it.

But it is one of the possibilities. We just can't know what happend.

Not only over the unfollows but in general. The post was purposefully vague and posted on LinkedIn. So, probably not directed at fans in the first place.

This isn't our discourse to engage in.

I see the hypocrisy, that I am in a round about way engaging in it right now.

That is actually a really good point, Anon! We honestly can't know what happened or who did what unless directly told and explained to us. I think this circulated and left a lot of people feeling uncomfortable, upset, sad, etc. and the asks are a way of people wanting to engage in it to talk out their feelings, if they have fears, or may just want someone to tell them that they don't think Ian and Anthony are bad people. I think that's the way that pushes this discourse to spring up.

Not trying to be bias since i really would want to hope that the people at smosh aren't at least actively malicious even if their actions are neglectful but knowing Dani was only there for a couple months, I can understand unfollowing mainly leadership even if those people specifically werent the source of grievances. As much as even my supervisors can be nice, theres a barrier between boss and employee where I only follow them for the networking and keeping up to date with work stuff opposed to coworkers who you're on an even playing field with.

That's true, honestly, two or three months isn't a lot of time to even really settle into a job tbh let alone get very close with people. Also, if I was upset at a company I would also likely unfollow my bosses and those who run the company that I had a bad experience at.

Dani not seeing eye to eye with Anthony and Ale isn't surprising to me. But I'm shocked about Ian and Zoe. They were the ones who were with her since she was a new hire. Maybe I'm just biased with the Smosh side but I think the Pressalike side may be the ones domineering the executive decisions. And the Smosh side can't help but agree because Pressalike is the more "successful" one.

Well, looking at her Linkedin it seems like she was a fairly recent hire? Maybe I'm wrong?

So, if we go off of this post then Dani was hired while Ale was already CEO and Smosh and Pressalike were already combined in certain aspects? I'm not super interested in making it a Smosh versus Pressalike issue (not saying that's what you were doing, Anon) and I honestly do not know enough about Ale and Zoe to have an opinion on how they run things.

I do agree though that the timing just looks bad and odd for a new CEO to be established in June and then less than a year later a handful of employees leave. Though I want to note I don't think anything shady happened with Jackie leaving. She had a better opportunity and took it and I think she would have left even if Ale wasn't brought on as CEO.

dani recently unfollowed ian (and 3 other people, i think u know who these 3 are) so i dont think they're in good terms anymore. she still follows other smosh fam so i dont think it's just her simple wanting to move on from smosh

Aw damn, well, that is disappointing then, and it does make them seem complicit in what happened. Are the others she unfollowed Anthony, Zoe, and Ale? It makes a lot of sense to unfollow those on the leadership team, unfortunately, especially if she feels they mistreated or let her down while she worked there. I just wonder what happened that in the span of two months or so, she was hired and then quit/was let go?? Either way, I am honestly trying not to let my bias for Ian and Anthony color my take on this.
