Batman: The Knight #6 ends with Bruce, underneath a tree, his heart shattered due to everything that just happened with Khoa (a sentiment he previously used in relation to his parents' deaths).

Batman: The Knight #7 opens with a young woman, underneath a tree, sobbing from having her heart broken by her boyfriend.

The woman gets taken by a demon whose next target is Giovanni Zatara, who's been struggling since the death of his wife.

Zatanna figures out the demons is Shantoz, who feasts on the souls of the broken-hearted.

Bruce and Zatanna use Bruce as bait for the demon, because of his broken heart.

They both link this to Bruce's parents, which I'm certain isn't untrue. But! In Batman: The Knight #8, we get Dr. Captio confirming Khoa broke Bruce's heart.

In conclusion! I think we can safely say Bruce's heartbreak over Khoa, which has already been linked in strength to the one he feels over the deaths of his parents, is definitely part of the feelings he's radiating to attract the heartbreak demon. The heartbreak demon whose two other victims both had their hearts broken by romantic love...
