I turned as D-Day climbed up onto the roof of the house. I smiled at him as he walked over.
“what are you doing up here when the party’s down there?” He asked, sitting down next to me. I looked back out over the trees.
”needed some air.” I shrugged. D-Day frowned as he looked around.
“so you came up here?” He asked. I nodded. “What’s so different about the air up here and down there?”
“well for one it doesn’t smell like alcohol. And two it’s quieter up here somehow.” I said. D-Day nodded.
“ok. I’ll give you that.” He said, wrapping an arm around me as I shivered. “Midnights in a few minutes.” I nodded as I leaned into him.
“I know.” I said. D-Day chuckled before kissing my head.
“How the fuck do you know that?” He asked with a laugh. “You’re always grabbing my arm to look at my watch.”
“clock tower.” I pointed out into the distance. D-Day turned pink as he looked at where I was pointing.
“well shit.” He muttered. I laughed as I looked at him. “Ah shut up.” He gently poked my nose before tugging me closer to him. “So uh kiss at midnight?”
“Yeah. Why wouldn’t we?” I asked as I shifted against him.
“dunno. Just thought…” he shrugged. “The shit happening with delta. Katy and boon. The fight with the omegas. Lots of crazy shit happening.”
“but none of that really affects us.” I said. D-Day nodded.
“yeah. I guess you’re right.” He admitted. I pulled away from him as the clock ticked closer to midnight.
“D-Day, I’ve told you once I’ll tell you again. Ain’t nothing coming between us.” I said. D-Day smirked.
“promise?” He asked. I nodded with a smile.
“promise.” I agreed. Glancing at the clock as it started to chime, I turned back towards him as I wrapped my arms around his neck. “Seal it with a kiss?”
“dork.” D-Day chuckled before kissing me. I tangled my fingers in his hair briefly before we pulled away. Looking down at a sudden bang, the members of delta that were still able to stand on their feet were pouring out onto the lawn. Drinks went flying and I could see bluto spraying champagne at anyone who came too close. “Happy new year (Y/N).” I turned back to D-Day and gave him a small kiss.
On today’s edition of [check the first tag], I present to you:
Bruce McGill.
Yes, I’m talking about the man, the myth, the legend. Most commonly known for his role as D-Day in the cult classic movie Animal House and as Vince Korsak on one of my favorite shows, Rizzoli and Isles.
He’s 71, but I just feel like he has the biggest heart and that his favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs. Like it’d be more a platonic living arrangement, but we’d get married for tax purposes.
