Meet the designer grows lamps from mushrooms
Danielle Trofe is a Brooklyn-based designer who recently launched a series of pendant and table lamps that are made from mushroom mycelium, a versatile and sustainable material. Trofe grows the lampshades inside custom 3D-printed molds and treats them with natural dyes.
環保設計!沙漏座地燈利用幼沙流動產生電力照明
現時我們一般用到的電燈、檯燈甚至座地燈,絕大多數都需要用上交流電才能驅動照明,不過又有沒有其他方法可以為電燈提供電力呢?而答案當然是可以。因為早前有設計師就製作出一款沙漏座地燈,除可以利用沙漏產生電力外,更同時結合時尚的設計。
據了解該款沙漏座地燈是由一位美國布魯克林設計師 Danielle Trofe 製成,單從外觀來看其設計相當獨特,其四尺高的中央部份主要為一個沙漏,而兩端則設有照明用的電燈。至於其運作原理則相當簡單,當沙漏中的沙向下流動時,所產生的動能便會轉化為電力,然後便可藉此驅動電燈。而為了方便使用者,座地燈中央更特別設有一個轉動位,若然沙漏中所有沙都流到下方時,只需將座地燈上下旋轉互換位置,如此便可繼續照明。
值得留意的是 Danielle Trofe 同時亦設計出一款沙漏檯燈(並非一般檯燈,而且整張檯結合了電燈),其運作原理與座地燈版本基本沒有分別,而且上面更有平面位可用來工作。雖然用沙漏發電這種構思相當前衛,但要經常將燈倒轉才能使用,不知大家又會否覺得很麻煩呢?
