Continuing playing around with Game Maker. Today I added a few new mechanics, as well as reworked a lot of the old ones now that I know more about the engine.

Change of direction
Exploring new ideas is a key benefit of working for yourself. I’ve had a lot of fun over the last month playing with some interesting concepts. The original game #2 was a hilarious project to work on, however the “generated problem system” didn't translate very well into a game. So I have decided to look at some different ideas. The system I created may be implemented into a game at some point, I just don’t think it works very well as the primary focus of a game.
Sometime a game ideas just doesn't turn out to be very fun. Although it did generate some interesting stuff (sorry for the poor quality).
So moving forward!
I have two projects I am currently working on, they are both pretty basic at the moment so I won’t show you quite yet. One is another simple phone game like RGYB-Q and the other is a larger game. The larger game includes a lot of logistics and balancing so it might be a while before I get it playing well enough to show you guys.
I’ll keep you updated

Technical Difficulties
The game is out. However, it doesn’t work. This is due to an issue caused by the Google Play Store and a patched version of the game has been submitted

In RGYB-Q colours are unlocked using your highscore. How close you are until your next colour is shown by the green bar. The blue bar represent your best combo (colours inputted with no mistakes) this unlocks a different set of colours. These are much more difficult to unlock and alter the Gameplay slightly. -Dan
Company Logo
We now have a company logo thanks to Jenny Winetrobe. She can be found at: http://www.jenniferwinetrobe.com/
In other news the new trailer should be out later today.

Finished
RGYB-Q is now finished... features wise. All that is left to do is play the game until we find every tiny little bug so I can go on a killing spree.
Fly Swatter on standby

Coming Soon
Our new game will be released in the coming weeks. I figured I would take some time to talk about the game.
The game is a called RGYB-Q (Red Green Yellow Blue - Queue). It is a very simple arcade style game that will test your reflexes and how to handle yourself under pressure. The game is extremely easy to play but extremely hard to master. There are power-ups, unlock and alternate gamemodes.
As this is our first ever release we are naturally quite nervous but also excited. The release should go smoothly. We will also be releasing a trailer for the game within the next few days.
In it’s current state the game is pretty much finished. The only changes left are some small bug fixes and changes to the UI.

Hello World
Hello, My name is Daniel. I am a games programmer. Me and my brother (Andrew) have just formed DrinkwaterGames and are currently developing our first game. Me or my brother will be posting updates regularly on this blog. It’s very early door yet. I will be taking care of development while he manages the business side of things. Watch this space
