My first theater experience. I came in not having any idea of the story of Dani Lyons. All I knew was she had cancer. I never thought I will be brought inside her beautiful mind and see her thoughts and imagination. It was indeed an emotional roller coaster ride. My situation may be far from her story but we had the same question. “Why?” And I was left with “Not having a reason doesn’t make a thing worthless”. 😭 There were a lot of lines that struck me right into the heart and here’s a few of them that I relate to: 1. “God helps those who help themselves.” (Faith) - I feel like God made me watch this show for me to hear these words. 2. “The sun still rose that day.” (Hope) - The song was heartbreaking and I can feel the pain that Dani’s mom feels 😭 but the song was a reminder of hope, that life moves on despite everything. 3. “It’s kinda big deal.” (Love and friendship) - It is because nobody’s ever done this for me before and I know that you are real. :’) Thank you friends. I feel loved. 💜 There’s a lot more and you’ll realize a lot of things that’s why it’s worth watching! I pinky swear!!! Don’t forget to bring a hankie. I was embarrassed and kind of sad at the same time cause I didn’t see much of the ending. The last song, really. 😭 I burst into tears and had to reached out to my friend cause it was too much for me to cry silently. I lost a loved one recently so it really had an impact on me especially when Dani was talking to God and when she hugged her mom. 😭 But don’t get me wrong, it’s not all to make you cry. There were a lot of scenes that made us laugh. I love the humor and Dani’s playful imagination that makes you reflect on yourself and makes you want to think like her. 😊 Hay basta ang ganda guys! Ang gaganda pa ng boses nila. The diction. The acting. Kudos to Dani, Dani’s mom, Mary weather, Raph and Mr. Fritz for a magnificent show! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you friends for bringing me there!
