the  comment  earns  the  waterbender  a  WELL-DESERVED  eye  roll,  followed  by  a  dismissive  flick  of  her  fingers  ;  any  morsel  of  decorum  discarded  in  favour  of  disdain.  it’s  clear  that  the  mere  implication  of  a  shortcoming  bothers  her,  more  so  than  it  should.  but  why  ?  is  it  because  it  comes  from  someone  as  lowly  as  katara,  or  is  it  because  it’s  true  ?              right  now,  the  former  seems  like  the only  plausible  option.  ❝  so  i  keep  hearing  ❞  if  she  sounds  aloof  or  unimpressed,  she  makes  no  effort  to  disguise  it.  rather,  she  holds  herself  remarkably  still,  as  though  trying  to  decide  what  line  of  approach  would  best  be  suited  for  the  situation  at  hand.

     HIS FRUSTRATION SIMMERS EVIDENTLY .   his posture is TENSE ,  his teeth practically grinding together .  it wasn’t HER choice if he wanted help or not !   he was fine on his own ,  thank you very much .   &&  ,  quite frankly ,  he was tired of people pretending he was some HELPLESS BABY .

who is michael o’brien for five hundred.

he had such a great set up.  cop who became obsessed with the idea that iron man killed his brother (kevin o’brien, first user of the guardsman armor and one of the few people who knew tony was iron man at the time), in their scuffle instead of it being just a tragic accident (which it was).  got deep and dirty with his unsanctioned investigation and was just bonkers mad when it didn’t turn anything up.  ended up putting on the guardsman armor (the same armor which fucked with his brother’s head bc it was cybernetically meant for tony’s brain patterns and hadn’t been fixed).  he and tony eventually became friends.  ended up working for pegasus and the vault (you know, the whole armor wars thing?).  worked for the avengers for a while and then just.

disappeared.  it was a shame i’d have honestly probably read a series about him picking up his brother’s legacy and moving forward with it, maybe bouncing in and out of avengers teams here and there, but no.  instead marvel decided they were just gonna forget about him after the big play up he got.
