"Then what do you want?" He'd thought they'd been on the same page, he thought that they both wanted whatever this was between them. Standing there, though, confusion etched into his features, he had to wonder if he'd misread all of this, if he'd really been THAT wrong. Then again, it had been a long time since he'd been around anyone that meant something to him. There had been Sharon when he was in DC but that was another lifetime ago. The time he spent with Babs meant a lot to him and Steve didn't want to think that all of this was nothing more than business, that she was using him to do the dirty work that she couldn't do herself.
