Birthday Photo-shoot.
Day #10 (Sunday) September 28, 2014
Bittersweet day. Today is the day my love was born but also our last day on the island. We had a lot of fun tho.
First I surprised her with a birthday photo-shoot and that I planned to get her a dress she wanted on Tuesday at Isabel. Of course there was problems, first nobody was open for breakfast of course so we decided to sneak to Red Beach first since it was raining yesterday, 2nd the storm from yesterday brought in seaweed from the red mangroves and they were all over Red Beach. We still got good pictures but didn't get into the water. Then we went to Duffy's which finally opened at 11am and got lunch. Then on to Isabel to return the movies and go get her dress. But again of course there were problems. We got to the shop and it had a handwritten sign on the door explaining she closed at 2pm (It was 2:13pm), even tho she told us Tuesday she closes at 5pm on Saturday and she wouldn't be open again until Tuesday at 10:30am. We are leaving tomorrow morning that won't work. But always having a trick up my sleeve. I remembered she said she had another shop over in Esperanza somewhere so we want to find it. It was right next to Duffy's (Lol).
Seemed like the rest of the day but Dannay finally found some pants and then we was off to trek to Navio. We vowed that no matter what we would make it this time and we did. After some considerable damage to the jeep we arrived at the small private bean but it was also filled with mangrove seaweed so it was a no go as well. So off we went back to our favorite bean Media Luna. Media Luna had hints of seaweed but still was pretty clear. The water was amazing and the nice dude even climbed up a tree and grabbed a coconut. He gave a piece to us after rinsing it off in the ocean water Dannay enjoyed, I was straight (Lol). We hung out there until we got thirsty and decided to go to Sun Bay to get a drink. We wanted another coconut with rum inside but again island time. When we got there the guy was closing, probably because that side of the beach was hit with the mangrove seaweed but we couldn't be too upset he still came back just to give us some cokes.
We decided to head back to the hotel and we took a few more pictures and ended at the pool. We swam there until about 5:30-6:00pm then went iside to sloes-up before heading back to Duffy's for dinner. Got out about 7:30pm and headed for Duffy's but when we got to Esperanza we noticed that the small town was pitch black dark. There was a power outage. The guy at Duffy's told us that the only place that would be open was the Lazy Dog so we went thee and grabbed some burgers and a strong drink that they call a painkiller. It was crazy how the locals were hanging out because of the black-out but I'm sure the young men were just there hoping to get lucky and score a hot traveler. We were pretty tired from all the running we did so decided to call it a night.
Wedding photos on Sunbay beach.
