Coniel // Daniel/Connor // Connor x Daniel AU Idea:

Connor and Daniel are two patients in a hospital, and both of them are soon to die due to an illness they share.

Daniel has less time than Connor.

Daniel is incredibly aggressive and angry because of how unfair it is, but after he meets the other person with his illness, he sobers a little. He didn’t find out about Connor sharing his ailment until a few weeks after having met Connor.

So, he tries to be a bit nicer to Connor. Neither of them should have to go with annoyance as their last feelings and memories, you know? He and Connor have their aches and pains, their difficulties with living, and some days, they both just want this to end.

But then Connor and him talk about what they wish they could have gotten to do in life.

Daniel wants to have a family one day, work in a kindergarten or daycare, have his own children among the ones he’d take care of.

Connor wants a family, too, and wants to follow in the footsteps of his uncle and become a cop. He also mentions the things he’d like to do that he hadn’t gotten to do before, since he was busy with school and his studies to the point of having no time.

In the last stretch, a few weeks left before Daniel is due and only one or two more than that for Connor, they decide that they’re gonna do all that they’ve wanted, sneaking out of the hospital together.

Daniel’s niece, Emma, pretends to be their daughter for the duration of this. Hank, Connor’s uncle, pays for them to go on vacation for a few days, and when they come back, he lets them stay with him.

Connor and Daniel play off being each other’s husband as being part of the act, but by the time they get back, they’ve been at each other like teenagers, and they never let go of each other. It could be the lack of time, it could be the time they’d spent together and the fact that they can empathize with one another.

It doesn’t matter, though. They love each other with the intensity of a lifetime smashed into less than a month. Emma is more than sad that this is the last bit of their lives, but she’s glad to make them happy, and they treat her like a princess.

When it comes close to time for Daniel, Connor and him discuss, and.

They both die together. The ‘how’ is not to be discussed.

I just wanted some Coniel, though I haven’t checked over or researched this. That’s why I didn’t go into specifics of the illness they share.

I just think the lyrics fit the situation very accurate! It's like if Connor said this words to Daniel, and he was like: “You really think so? Okay, I trust you!” but Connor lied to him.

Yesterday was a real scorcher and I've got heat stroke and was lying with it whole day. It was awful. Wet towel saved me finally.
