13. (Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher by Rita Coolidge debuted May 77 and peaked at number two, charting for 27 weeks and scoring 1742 points.

This was Rita's first of six top 40 hits through 1983. Jackie Wilson's 1967 original was the number 68 hit of the year. Dolly Parton's version was on her Feb 1977 New Harvest, First Gathering album, her first attempt at crossing over to the pop market.

The backup singer on the right is Danny Gerard, lead singer of WIldflower by Skylark, the number 32 biggest hit of 1973. 1977 was the year Dan released his final solo singer, and then became a background singer
