No I am right there with you I get it but I also get that it isn’t entirely droughty because of Danny’s statement the way some people are making it. The show is not giving them any focus or time to show either of those things hahahah neither mates nor lovers and I don’t think that is down to the actors. It is more on the storyboard directors and the writing. How can I be mates or lovers when the line in the script is kick off with Robert?? we do need joy and love and tenderness again its just the show isn’t giving any and that has nothing to do with Danny’s answer which was an answer to the questions “ Why are Robron so loved by many for long” which I find his answer fair…the insanity that followed was not it at all hahahah anyway Hope we do get some tenderness and love soon 🥰

I do get what he is saying and I think it comes from a place of love but I personally love that Aaron isn't stereotypical and I think people just wanna see more affection and not bros/roommates vibes.

but isn’t that what they did and represented when GIVEN actual screen time and an ounce of story??! Isnt that what happened early 2025 ? I understand how the cut out clip might upset people I get that but in the full interview with proper context it is different. And it was shown exactly that when given. It’s not Danny doesn’t want to play gay Aaron in love it’s that the show hasn’t given them anything to show other than fight and that has nothing to do with “best mate in love”!

Early 2025 you mention? We were so blessed! We knew we were lucky, we just didn't know how bad it was going to become.

I am in the camp whereby, I love that they can be best mates in love, that Robert wants the little things in life and that's quiet nights with Aaron on their farm now.

I think my problem is the lack of intimacy and Emmerdale's problem with it. Like they can be best mates FINE (they wouldn't be if they weren't in love) but, we need to see them highly obsessed with each other again. Their codependency is THEM. They need each other. They have always been all over one another. They don't need to stand on opposite ends of a room or opposite ends of a table. I need more of the lil touches and the flirty experiences like "your place not mine."

I can imagine right now, it's really disheartening for Danny and soap actors in general, with the budget cuts and block filming and not knowing what direction your character is going in. He has always championed Robron.

I don't know if this answers why you came here but this is my thoughts :)

Oh, and also: When Aaron was with Ben or later John and claimed that he would chose either of them over Robert- there was Danny, still talking about Robert being the love of Aarons life. He believed in them (and in Ryan) even when there was no indication of them ever being on screen together again.

He is the captain of ship Robron and will continue to be it.

So, just leave it.

To all of those going crazy about the things Danny has said:

Do you even realize how lucky we are?

There is this soap couple, going on 12 years (!!!). They are back together after years apart - with the same actors. The same chemistry. They live together on their farm, there is no cheating storyline, no betrayal or murder plots (currently) - and some people go crazy because the captain of or ship - Danny, who has supported them from the start - calls them "best friends"? THAT'S our biggest problem? And how is that homophobic? Every couple of more then 10 years needs to be best friends in a way, no matter if m/f, m/m or f/f. Doesn't mean they're just that. They are the loves of each other's lifes - as stated by the characters AND the actors.

We are so blessed!

(Yes, the writing sucks, the producer is...well... HER, and I'd also like more intimacy, but in general: It could be worse)

After all the drama yesterday I must say the only thing that I did not like in Danny‘s interview in that podcast is that he trusts the producers. Has he met Laura Shaw?

But I get it, people just miss the warmth between them. A soft glance, heart eyes, a touch here and there wouldn’t go amiss. I miss that, too.

Kinda funny how (mainly other fandoms) are only bringing up Danny’s wrong doing now….a lot of these thing (like the cheating) happened over 12 years ago and yet because he said one stupid line on a podcast (that wasn’t even anything controversial he just said something that came across as daft) and suddenly people are reminding everyone of mistakes he made when he was young and stupid.

Clearly people don’t actually give a fuck about any of it and only using it as a weapon because why only bring it all up now when it happened over a decade ago?
