Logan doesn’t know what’s wrong, don’t know why she’s crying, but he can hear her and it’s making him itch to burst in and just wrap his arms around her. He doesn’t like her upset on a good day, when he knows what’s wrong, what happened, or what comment Tony might have made that day. But hearing her crying in the shower on his way to his room was too much. There’s a soft, barely there knock before he’s pushing the door open and slipping into the bathroom. “Toria?” His tone is soft, but concerned as he moves over to the shower, grabbing a towel as he moves. “What’s wrong, sweetheart?” He can’t help the soft whine of worry that slips out of his throat as he pulls back the curtain gently to be able to see her. Part of him wonders who he’ll have to rip to shreds for making her cry, but the first concern is taking care of her, making sure that she’s alright.
Automatically, like reaching for a life vest, Toria reaches out for Logan, and wraps wet, pruny arms around his neck, burying her face against him as she sobs, shoulders shaking with each sob. "I miss...my mom," she says finally. "This...is...the anniversary of...her death." It's hard to get the words out because it hurts. Sometimes it just hits her, and it feels almost as fresh as when Cindy first died. It's the hardest thing for her to deal with. "I miss her so much..."
"None of us are involved, Tony. We're all trying to figure this out, help save those we know have been taken, and trying to work out the who behind it all. And put a stop to it." Katherine looked down at Tony, kissing him softly. "And fighting between us won't help any of it, love. We need to be a united front on this, watch each other's backs. It's why you're helping train your sister. To help make her stronger." (3/3)
Tony kisses his mate back, and tries to refrain from making any more grumbles, at least for now. "They're easier, sure, but why would Savannah only send one? If she could find Victoria, couldn't she find the rest?"
"Maybe it was just a start?" Victoria offers with a quiet tone. "If the witches normally stick to their own Coven business, maybe it was all she could do without stirring up a problem for herself?"
Logan nods a little. "Witches and demons, they're more dangerous, have powers to protect themselves." Uusally at least. The coven doesn't normally turn their back on their own. "And you're right, we don't know if there are any witches missing, or demons, or warlocks. All we know is that daughters of wolves are going missing." Glancing over at Tony, Logan shakes his head. "But don't assume she's working with them, Tony. She's here helping us." (2/3)
Katherine is happy to settle in Tony's lap, nose dipping to rest in his hair gently when he rests against her. She's more than happy to touch and be touched in a way that offers comfort. It's a show of how whole they are together verses apart, how good they are together. "Daughters are easier targets." She glances over at Victoria. "No offense. But the Pack leaves them with their mothers, no Pack to watch over them because they don't shift." (1/3)
"But who would - " Katherine stops, eyes closing as she shifts to sit on Tony's leg. They've all been raised with the knowledge of what happened with their mother was taken, of the experiments that were run on Others, not just wolves, and what Savannah did to the facility. "Humans. It's got to be more of those human research freaks that just can't leave us well enough alone." (3/3)
Tony pulls her more into his lap, careful of his dented (never damaged) goods, and strokes at her side. She's as much of a touchstone as his woman. Resting his head against her, he knocks off the macho act for a few moments to actually listen and think about things. "Why aren't they taking the witches? Some of the demons?" he suggests. "Didn't they do it the last time? Wasn't Savannah there the last time, with Elena?"
Sometimes Tony struggles to not call Elena 'Mom' like Kat and Logan, because, well, she did half raise him. She's the closest thing he's got to a mother. But since things started to get hot and heavy between himself and Kat, that felt a little weird.
Victoria reaches forward and takes the bottle of pain pills left out specifically for her, and pops a couple with the remaining swig of water. "There may be witches missing too. We don't know. Maybe it's a 'everyone grab your own' kind of situation. The Pack's supposed to worry about wolves, and let the Coven worry about the witches?" She pauses a little. "But I can see the appeal. In a way. Think about it. Think about if someone could isolate the health side of being a werewolf. You guys don't ever get sick. That, in and of itself would drive people to this. Cure AIDS. Cancer. Basically everything but death."
Tony looks at his sister suspiciously. "Sounds like you've thought about it a lot," he retorts, that suspicion bald for the world to see. "Maybe you know more than you're saying."
"That if there'd been a way for me to save my mom's life, save her from suffering for three years, I would have done anything? Yeah, I probably would have. Because she didn't deserve to suffer. So, if you could crawl back into that Neanderthal cave you belong in, that'd be great."
It's amazing that they're getting along well, not snipping at each other for once. And both of the Danvers are enjoying it while it lasts. "Dad's research has looked into old tribes, ancient people that look like they might have once been weres too, but no one has been able to find a trace of them to actually prove they existed past the tales and old relics. Some still think they were largely just wearing animal parts," Logan answers with a soft sigh as he starts some water for hot dogs.(2/3)
Tony can distract her from just about anything, and she doesn't mean to make him think otherwise. But this is important. Not just for Victoria's sake, but for all wolves out there. They need to figure this out. The sigh has her nails slip to tease along the back of Tony's neck, catching the spot that she knows he likes as she dips to steal a kiss. She'd be in his lap if she didn't think that'd hurt him. "We've never found other species of weres before." (1/3)
