not sure if this counts as a disability aid or not, but i am 99% sure im autistic, and when im overstimulated alone i ise a wig cap to put up my hair!

i use the wig cap instead of hair clips/hair ties because its easy to put on, doesnt have sharp components and wont tug at my hair

it helps quite a lot!

Sounds like an aid to me, but it deserves some positivity either way! Glad you found something that helps; overstimulation is rough!

They're not mobility aids or anything, but do things like noise-cancelling headphones and stim toys and AAC cards count at all?

do comfort items count as disability aids?

like my hoodie. i get overstimulated and anxious a lot more easily without it or like. ESSAs (emotional support stuffed animals)

I think there is some discussion about whether comfort items count but a lot of people consider them to be aids. And this account will include posts about comfort items. We haven't had many yet but there was this ask about someone using a wig cap for overstimulation and another one that I can't find right now about a hood.

Hi, I have some pictures of me in my wheelchair with music artists (because I like to meet artists and buy vip for concerts often), would it be fine to have the artists featured too haha? I will blur my own face though. Do I need to post them on my own blog and tag you?

Are handbikes mobility Aids too?

Handbikes were designed for people with limited leg strength or function if I remember correctly, so I believe they count as aids. For the purpose of this blog, handbikes definitely count.

genuine question

do joint braces and such "count" as mobility aids? I had very very bad tendinitis in my knee (to the point I couldn't run without my muscles feeling like they were about to tear apart) and had to wear a knee brace. it did help me get a lot better at moving with less pain, and I still occasionally need to wear it for flare ups. would that be considered a mobility aid?

As far as this blog is concerned, knee braces definitely count. Whether they're officially considered mobility aids or just disability aids, I'm not sure, but either way, you shouldn't be ashamed to use them! ✌️
