I would love to chat sometime. I don't have any other Pratchett fans to talk to much. I feel today like the day he died.
Fun fact! I was born on his death day. Uh... I don't actually know if that is a fun fact or not.
But absolutely. I am actually thrilled to find an ask in my inbox. People don't often send me asks and I am desperate to talk about the GO3 finale with anyone.
I saw a few of your posts while scrolling and I feel very sympathetic of your position fandom-wise.
I want to have the most charitable interpretation of the showrunners possible because I loved a lot of the finale and I don't think it's productive to pile onto the hate that the fandom will inevitably throw at them. But, yeah... I'm really confused by a lot of their choices. Especially in regards to the ideological core of the film...
I can't possibly know how Pterry would feel about it, but it doesn't have a very obvious place where it clicks into the ideas of Pterry's larger body of work. I really can't wait to hear the director's commentary.
