all the odds for darcy? (not my fandom but I’m so curious about ur new baby!)
1. what was the first element of your oc that you remember considering? Darcy’s obsession and investigation into the supernatural. Even tho she hears the whispers that everyone thinks she is insane, she knows she’s not. Also, I really want to throw in as many buzzfeed unsolved references as possible. Darcy will definitely say at some point “hey demons! it’s me. your girl.”
3. How did you choose their name? From a name help master post. I chose Darcy specifically because of two other characters: Darcy Lewis and Darcy the Witch from Winx (winx was my entire childhood).
5. is there any significance behind their hair color? Darcy has a Sabrina Spellman inspired hair change color. When Darcy begins to grow her magic, her hair begins to change to a near white blonde.
7. Is there any significance behind their height? She is 5′9, making her the same height as Spike and taller when she wears heels and I just love that a lot.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way? Her fascination with the supernatural is a lot like mine. I don’t necessarily believe in it, but I love love love researching lore.
11. Did you know what the Oc’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation? Not really, tho I decided she had to be bisexual after I made a gif of her checking out Cordelia. In another timeline they are a fantastic couple. I can’t make them canon because they would be too powerful.
13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story if at all? I’m playing fast and loose with the timeline, especially in s2. There is a long game I’m incorporating underneath the Angelus plotline. Also, I’m giving Darcy an unexpected mentor which means going against some canon. And I’m bringing Spike back in s3 instead of waiting for s4 because him and Darcy bond unexpectedly. And I want Darcy to have the one person in her corner that supports her in all her chaotic endeavors.
15. what is something about your oc can make you laugh? Her insults for Zander. Their dynamic is very Lizzie vs Landon, except Landon is much better than Zander. She never lets him live down the hyena episode, calls him hyena boy. Her dislike for him is so strong it protects her from falling under that love spell he accidentally placed on every woman in Sunnydale.
17 is there some element you regret adding to your oc or their story? Not really. I love Darcy a lot. I may get hate for it but I’m giving Darcy an entire arc relating to Angelus. He becomes so so significant to her character development. And honestly, Darcy isn’t really a ‘good’/ideal hero like Buffy, She’s so chaotic and selfish, but cares so much about certain things. I just really love her.
10 what is your favorite fact about your oc? Not really a fact, but what I really love about Darcy is her sheer love for the paranormal and for magic. There’s a Julia Wicker quote, do you love magic? is it in your soul? and that’s very very Darcy. Her arc with her magic is one of my favorites because its almost a selfishly driven arc? but not. nothing like the magic addict arc of Willow. She’s growing herself alongside her magic. She gains power on her own terms, never loses herself, is so secure in this grey chaotic area even when it puts her at odds with her family and friends. And i love it. highkey fuck whedon for his powerful yet broken women kink darcy is defying all of that.
