So my family life is a shit show rn
So back in March my grandparents cancelled on a lunch date with us (mom and siblings) because Grandpa wasn't feeling well. Fast forward a few days and "not feeling well" is now "hospitalized for pneumonia". Fast forward another week or so and he has late stage lung cancer. Whole month in the hospital. He got about a week and a half at home before passing away in the ICU less than a week after mother's day.
So a little backstory for this next part: my parents were married for 10 years and have been divorced for 13. They never should've gotten married in the first place, mom was forced into it, the divorce was Messy™, mom's whole family hates my father, Grandpa especially so.
After being very explicitly not invited because, again, whole family hated him, my father shows up to the funeral anyway. As eldest I'm tasked with kicking him out as quietly as possible. I do so, and he hits me with "I'll remember this" on his way out. ??? Go for it my guy, you're crashing your ex-wife's father's funeral because she obviously doesn't have enough going on without you being an ass
Well, DCFS shows up to talk to my younger sibling the next day. Case worker does an inspection of the house and questions us. Turns out someone made an anonymous online report of the house being uninhabitable (it's not), that we have too many animals and there's shit piled on the floor (we don't), that the kids room is so trashed they can't even sleep on the bed (it's not, and they're a teenager who sleeps on the couch because that's where the TV is, they like video games)
She shows us the report and it's obvious our father wrote it. We kicked him out of a place he wasn't welcome and his response is to try and get my sibling taken away before they turn 18 in December. The same bullshit he would pull with all of us when he didn't get his way in the divorce. This was last week
TLDR: in the span of less than 2 weeks I lost my grandpa, cut contact with my father, and almost got my sibling taken away.
He's still trying to call us like we're not pissed at him btw
