Ok my jesting aside. One underrated aspect of the comic book medium is perspective. In a Spider-man book Peter is, generally, shown as an underdog always facing some uphill battle(and losing it). But here in DD’s more grisly book he’s mega foreboding because to Matt this dude’s more like a horror show.

Yeah he jests and acts all pathetic but Matt can see just how strong he really is and is probably acutely aware that the only times he’s walked away from their disagreements in one piece is because Peter is fundamentally a good dude. It’s terrifying yet probably familiar at the same time.
