To you, leaving things to be dug on your internet for our enjoyment, but I say, our education, salute!
To you, daring to expose beauty in this shitty city while most succumb to it, keep on with the keeping-ons.
And you with your cool ass thang, stay doing it. Keep teaching us that ingenuity is still a thing to be desired, that Things is the stuff to be about y'know: like black, history, language, music, rap, scenery, geography, prose, poetry, art, jazz, pop, politics, sociology, ideologies, literature, culture, soul, intelligence, excellence…Things.
To you, steadily you in these places where everybody wants to be somebody else.
And you, who chooses paperbacks over tweets, prayers over profiles, human beings over robots. I know you know what I mean. I know the currency which you choose to deal: kindness, a love for all the living, cleverness and persistence. Hey! sustain.
You will find it is the churchgoers who cannot quite grasp the beauty of choral compositions, the scholars who find it difficult to learn and the perpetual party-goers who are miserable. And all that hoopla on life and its paradoxes and notions of depth and such, the pseudo-intellectuals with their whose-its and what-nots… all the more learning for us the observers I say.
Stand still and know your effort in making life something to be about is stuff to be about. Learn on. Glow more. Burn ever slow- the world needs your heat. Keep on daring!
