So, I wrote a fic…

I would PAY to read a dark!Snily with A Lily who goes werewolf because of the werewolf incident (say, she catches Snape while he’s going and she’s patrolling and follows him) and proceeds to go full dark lady in resentment. It has the potential to be glorious. With the marauders having to deal with opposing her while feeling guilty for having turned her.

Hii I hope you’re doing well!

This has been on my mind and I wanted to ask for your opinion so, in your opinion, what would’ve happened if the dark lord spared Lily? (It means James and possibly Harry are dead) Would Snape leave her alone after that too? (Even if Harry possibly lives) Every time I come close to how things could unfold it ends up being a little too bitter so yeah, can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

Mmh, I do have a few scenarios in my head. The funniest one, I’ll say it already, is a case where Harry survives. Why?

Because Lily becomes a Death Eater for Voldemort.

This seems to come out of nowhere, but when reading canon, you realize that Lily offered to do "Anything" for Voldemort. So here comes the... um, I don’t remember the exact name, but you know when you have to choose between two options and each are equally bad? Honor vs love, etc? It starts with d—.

So imagine Voldemort stops and asks: "Anything?"

Would Lily become a Death Eater just to save her son? Or would she let her son die after all, just because she doesn’t want to soil her hands?

It’s really convenient Voldemort killed her before considering her proposition. And then Rowling wonders why people asked if Lily once was a DE... or if she could be dark.

So Lily becomes, potentially, a spy for Voldemort, pretending she works for Dumbledore, just for Harry. At the same time, Snape spies for Dumbledore, pretending to work for Voldemort, just for Lily and Harry.

From then on... I have little hope that the Light side wins, unless Dumbledore moves his ass and repeatedly kills Voldemort or hunts the Horcruxes, possibly with Snape and/or Lily’s assistance.

As for the scenario where Harry dies, I don’t think Snape would even dare approach her.

We learn in canon that Snape wasn’t even a known member of the Order in the first war. He was a secret spy. I don’t think Severus contacted the Potters directly, or even wanted to.

(Then again, they didn’t know he was a DE, so unless DE Lily sees Snape amongst Voldemort’s circle, no communication.)

It would be too painful, he feels ashamed—how could he dare be near the woman who was so kind to him and he only answered to with "mudbloods" and putting her family in mortal danger?

It is only, only, if Lily comes to him that perhaps the contact could be re-established.

If something else dark doesn’t happen.

It’s entirely possible Voldemort was ready to give Lily to Severus as a prize for good services and for evil. Severus, of course, would manage to get her to safety. Either the Light side seems to win, and he secures her (and Harry?) with Dumbledore, or he pretends to use her (and turn Harry into a DE) so he can protect Lily from the other DEs if Voldemort wins. Voldemort would expect that kind of evil from Snape, but we know Snape—he would feel disgusted enough by the very thought.

Lily would probably be angry and resentful at first, and traumatized lf course. Then, it all depends. When she sees Severus has turned spy, is she a good woman who respects that (whether they become friends again or not)? Or is she the toxic type who would reduce Severus to a slave (basically), playing with his intense sense of guilt to make him do whatever she wishes and "take her revenge" on him?

Or perhaps she’s been abused by her own husband and his friends, and so Severus has to take care of a mentally/psychologically damaged mother?

It’s up to you.

In any case, whether Harry had survived or not, if Lily was alive... I really don’t think Snape would need to "leave" her because he would already keep himself afar from her, as much as possible.

That’s what happens, when you hate yourself for having hurt the person you consider the best.

Dark!snily is all so... depressing man. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but is it too much to ask for a fic where Snape and Lily are a happy murder couple? A Walter White corruption style fic, with both sinking into Dark Magic, finding that the deeper they go the happier they are. Preferably with Lily as a Dark Lady. Snape has always been a follower at heart, and Lily has the charisma to pull of the Dark Lady schtick. If they’re both Death Eaters then that’s less amusing (also implausible, Lily being muggleborn and all). I would sell my firstborn for something like this.

Dark!snily AU with Snape being the Marcus Agrippa to Dark Lady Lily's Octavius/Augustus. The competent military leader who wins the military battles, and the charming, cunning politician who is the face of the movement (though a powerful witch in her own right). Divided they would fail, but together they are unstoppable. I would sell my firstborn and thirty denarii for this fic.
