BAD KINGDOM - CHAPTER 4 “Blood on your name”
I'm living for the reluctant-besties-but-also-constantly-at-each-other's-throats dynamic Voldemort and Severus have in Death of a Fawn (⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝)
"My lord has taught me the invaluable lesson that nothing forges strength better than harshness"
Meaning you fucker tortured me when I was sixteen and I have not forgotten it, even if we are partners in arms now.
“Shoving your cock down her throat can hardly be called parenting, Severus.” “The little delinquent liked it.” “And that is the sole reason you are not a eunuch now.”
Voldemort casually talking about the girl he basically stole after trying to kill her and 'raised' as his own. Severus entirely unbothered by it.
“I have always been a studious apprentice, master - I cannot die, even if I was mortal, Harlyn is mine - and the girl who lived is going to be a powerful weapon against the ICW.”
Severus knowing his worth and reminding Voldemort of the fact he needs him as much as Severus needs Voldemort.
“No." Voldemort shot him a cruel smirk, one that revealed his fangs. "You are not made for the delicate machinations of politics. You have always worn your heart on your sleeve. You prefer to trudge through the muck and feel bones shattering beneath your knuckles, to have men crumble to your feet, their blood splattering your face…” Severus grunted and took a drag of his cigarette. “And you hate interacting with civilians.” He could not argue with that.
Voldemort knows Severus so well ( ╥ ᴗ ╥)
“Do not forget your place, Severus.” “It is right next to you, doing the parts you cannot - now answer me!”
Severus doesn't take shit from Voldy.
Finally, Severus got some reaction from Voldemort that made sense. Dark shadows fell from his robes and gathered around his feet like poisoned smoke, discolouring the floor beneath his feet in its wake. Crimson pinpoints born of fury bore into Severus’ skull. Their wands were drawn the next second. A flowerpot behind Severus, less than an inch to the left of his head, burst into a thousand pieces. Severus’ Sectumsempra missed Voldemort as well, tearing a decorative pillow to shreds instead.
And he doesn't shy away from goading Voldemort into giving him the reaction he wants when he's pissed off.
“And you claim to care for her.” Voldemort’s gaze slipped off him towards the room behind Severus. “I gave her to you, didn’t I?” He murmured softly. “So that she may grow up around someone who possesses the capability to love. I forfeited being her father for fourteen years so that she would not have a lonely childhood. You are one bitter, angry, prickly piece of shit, Severus - but you have a heart big enough to love her for the both of us.” Severus scoffed. Claw-like nails dug into his skin. “I used to think it was your worst quality.” “Used to?” “I was beginning to reconsider my assessment - until this pathetic display of emotionality.”
Two monsters united in their love for the Girl Who Lived ಥ﹏ಥ
And of course there is this hilarious interaction from the upcoming chapter that sparked my thinking about their odd friendship.
“Face it, your fancy manor has a rat problem.” "Impossible!" Voldemort repeated, with more force this time. His tongue elongated the s noise, slipping into Parseltongue. Severus shrugged. “A lot of big Manors do.” Voldemort hissed something in Parsel Severus could not understand, though he was pretty sure it was an insult. Voldemort simply didn’t swear and when he was alone with Severus and the urge welled up, drenched in the filth of his past, he never did it in English. God forbid, Severus would understand his curses.
There are a few things about Death of a Fawn I genuinly love, but the relationship between Voldemort and Severus has a special place in my heart ( •̯́ ^ •̯̀) I could probably keep going and pluck even more interactions between them from the fic, but that would probably be too much xD
I currently find it hard to find interesting ways to mix the prompts, and I'm a bit affraid that it may affect the originality of the entries. I try to make different types of scenes and poses at minimum, at least it will grant me some new experience.
Here is the drawing I made for days 17 & 18, based on the prompts "Witching hour" and "(No) mercy".
Well, this one certainly is a wild one! ahah.
I think that the theme "(no) mercy" suggested that Snape was supposed to be the one targetted, but I decided otherwise and made a merciless Snape instead! Because I wanted to draw him as a death eater at some point, and it seemed like the right moment to do so. He's pretty evil here - definitely going to SectumSempra any incoming foe.
I couldn't figure out how to draw the death eater's cloak properly, and needed to ink the drawing in order to get the drawing done on time, so it certainly looks off. Anyway, I like Snape's death eater outfit, so it may be worth some extra practice when I will have the time.
All and all I wanted the pic to have an ominous look, as "witching hour" isn't something that gives me a positive feeling by any mean, and as I like dark stuff such as Berserk or Devilman Crybaby, it turned out pretty angsty. Will color it with black and bright red, I believe.
Death Eater Snape, has always been fascinating to me, and I regret JK Rowling never went more precisely in his youth's obsessive interest in the dark arts. The extend of his sins as a death eater is a subject of great debate. My opinion in the matter isn't definitely sorted and I'm keen to accept different interpretations, but my take is that he may not have been murderous and harmful in the way Bellatrix was, but was certainly able to resort to twisted means to achieve his goals. SectumSempra isn't the nicest spell you can think of to say the least, and I've always seen it as a glimpse into Severus's underlying agressivity and harmfull desires (rooted in years of accumulated anger and resentment).
Don't hesitate to give me your thoughts - either on the drawing or on death eater Snape - it's always a pleasure to read you all! :-) Hope you'll enjoy. 🌕
I love the concept of dark snape, just zero redemption and an absolute monster. Like this man was brilliant, imagine him peak death eater times he could have done incredible damage! (And the idea of him covered in blood and with crazy eyes 👀)

Summary: The year of 1993 is a bad year for Severus Snape. With Potter in harm's way, the convicted murderer Black escaped, the dangerous Lupin back in Hogwarts and Dumbledore purposefully oblivious to his concerns, Severus starts to crack under the pressure early on. It is such a special year that the desperate Potions Master is given by Fate a superpower like no others: the Path to Victory.
Thanks to a certain magical symbiote, he gains the power to achieve anything the Universe allows, as long as he asks the right question. But as everyone knows, Severus Snape is not a nice man. Plagued by grudges, wounds and regrets, how can this man handle such power without developing a maddening God Complex?
Warning: lots of character bashing, slightly dark!Snape, Path to Victory different than Contessa’s
I also discuss external things about the fandom: how function the Afterlife and souls in HP, how easy it can be to turn Animagus following Rowling’s instructions on another book, Dementors/Boggarts and how not to confuse them, how Voldemort enrolled/manipulated/radicalized Snape, a take on Snape’s unhealthy state of mind, disillusionment...
Hope you will enjoy reading it!
Inktober Day 5: Bones
Someone had to dispose of the evidence.
Your posts and hcs are honestly fantastic! You’re one of my favorite snape blogs to be honest. I really loved your recent 500 followers post on Tom and Snape having a connection there, it’s always been a headcanon that Voldemort held respect for snape or liked him - perhaps because he saw himself in him, you know? And had Severus been truly loyal, he might have been made an heir to Voldy’s future empire (bc with snep on his side for real, they’d win)! Could you do more hcs on that? 🤗 Thank you!
Hey Anon! Sorry this took awhile. Thanks for liking this dumpsite for my hcs and shitposts, it means so much to me! I also think that Voldemort saw himself in Severus and I did an hc about Snape being some favorite of Voldemort.
I’m not sure what you want anon but I’m assuming it’s with Sev being a faithful follower of Voldemort.
- Voldemort’s favor was fickle and his Death Eaters who hold it is wary, not quite sure if his favor would do them any good.
- While Lucius and Bella were seen as competing for his right hand, some one else effortlessly held his attention.
- The little half-blood boy was angry and Voldemort could feel the rage barely being controlled by occlumency shields. The boy was bright, he knew that the moment their eyes met. He had courage-some recklessness Voldemort attributed to his youth- he saw that the moment the black eyes held his longer than majority of his senior death eaters.
- Voldemort was no fool. Severus Snape came to him because there was no one else he could turn to. But Voldemort knew how to make Severus stay.
- He knew how to help a little boy struggling with his muggle relatives. He knew how to capture the fancy of a boy born from an old pureblood line only to have every opportunity denied from him because of his tainted blood.
- Severus’ father was killed while he was drunk as a pig in a pub. The locals deemed it as natural causes. Voldemort knew precisely who killed Tobias Snape. He knew precisely the curses used to make the muggle suffer yet remain untouched.
- But there were aspects about the boy that Voldemort could not understand.
- When Snape pleaded for the life of that mudblood–Tom was furious.
- Love is a weakness and surely his mirror, his secret favorite, could not be under its spell. His anger calmed when he remembered that the blood traitor Potter was the schoolboy rival of Severus.
- Severus desired her, that was all.
- A boy who has faced suffering, neglect, and abuse could never feel love. There is only anger, power, and fear.
(I took the wrong turn with this one and got carried away again. This part will deal with Loyal!Sev)
- The prophecy was delivered to the Dark Lord but it was incomplete. It didn’t matter though, this gave Voldermort the chance to elevate Severus’ position in his circle without question from the others.
- The Longbottoms or the Potters. Voldemort took a glance as his death eaters were seated based on their ranks. On his right was Severus Snape. It was no question who posed as the ‘bigger’ problem. after all, the Purebloods around him were useless without their money, the half-blood boy next to him though, and the secret half-blood Lord brought results.
- He made his decision and he informed Severus. He was taken aback when the young man laughed darkly, remarking that Potter would finally get what’s coming to him.
- Such loyalty brings respect and Voldemort silently waited for some request that Snape would ask of him.
- “Kill them all, my Lord.” And he did.
- Dumbeldore stood no chance. Black was thrown into Azkaban, Pettigrew was hailed as a hero of the Death Eaters, Lupin was taken care of during one of his strolls during a full moon.
- One by one, their little order decreased in number. Dumbledore and the rest were in hiding. Hogwarts was in his hands.
- He didn’t announce just how high up Severus was in his circle. The public will believe what they will, but true Slytherins knew where the power truly ebbs.
- He will not die so he didn’t bother setting up an heir. But everyone knew who was second-in-command.
- Severus was the headmaster of Hogwarts and oddly enough there were students who liked him. Students from different houses suffering from abuse. He cultivated a following of children willing to march to battle with him simply because he saw, and he did something. Severus knew how to make an unbreakable connection, he learned from the best.
- When a student rebellion was held against Severus, needless to say the students in his corner rose up and put the weaklings in their place. They added insult to injury by informing the other students just why they stood behind Headmaster Snape.
-It eventually led to more people believing in Lord Voldemort’s cause because if the Death Eaters were the one who saved them from their homes, could they be all that bad? Voldemort applauded just how cunning and resourceful his favorite is.
- Magical blood spilt is a waste. Voldemort accepted those who had the sense to join. But there was still a hierarchy of course.
- Voldemort saw himself in Severus Snape. Sometimes just a little, sometimes too much. He never feared some rebellion because he knew Severus Snape.
- He knew that he saved Severus Snape long ago. And the boy has bound himself to his saviour. Such is the nature of half-blood boys who are hungry for understanding, protection, and love.
I’m not sure what to make of this. I hope you liked it Anon! Voldemort seems a bit OOC but let’s just chalk it up to having less horcruxes and having someone he trusts to a degree.
HP AU in which Severus doesn't come back from Voldemort at the end of GoF
Dark:
- Dumbledore waited. That’s all he could do. Wait and hope.
- Sirius wished he could point out the obvious but he didn’t want to crush the old man…not yet.
- A little after 3am, a black owl arrived with a note. Dumbledore read it, then sat back in his chair, the note falling to the floor.
- Sirius retrieved the note and read: “What did you think was going to happen, you old fool?” It was signed by The Half-Blood Prince.
- It took less than three weeks for Hogwarts to fall, less than four for Harry Potter to be killed and within three months the resistance was all but gone.
Sad:
- Severus had been gone for three days and no word. Dumbledore was beginning to worry, they all were.
- On the fourth day, the broken body of Severus Snape was dumped on the steps of Hogwarts. Carved into his flesh was the message: “You’re going to need another spy, Dumbledore.”
